Reminders from Previous Newsletters
Attendance Policy
The Department of Education has a system to alert families when their students are absent from school. When a student is marked absent, the family will receive an automated text message, phone call and/or email from the NYC Department of Education. Please note that if a student is not in their homeroom during the required time, between 8:25-8:30am, their teacher is mandated to mark them absent. We encourage you to take a moment to talk to your student about the importance of arriving on time to their homeroom. Thank you for your cooperation.
Early Dismissal
Students are not permitted to leave school on their own prior to the end of the school day (2:45pm). The parent/guardian or any adult listed on the student’s emergency contact card can pick them up from school.
When arriving to pick up your student, please inform one of our staff members in the lobby of your child's full name and homeroom class number. This will allow us to call your child down promptly. We kindly request that you avoid early pick up during their lunch period or right before dismissal. Thank you for your cooperation.
