❤️Capturing Kids' Hearts❤️
The CKH Leadworthy Character Word for November is TEAMWORK.
What is Teamwork?
Teamwork is the ability to work in unity with others towards a common goal. For us to learn how to become team players, it is important that we learn to listen, encourage our peers, and allow and invite others to contribute their talents and skills.
Why focus on Teamwork?
Teamwork improves communication: Teamwork helps us improves our verbal and non-verbal communication skills, conveying that we care and a relevant message.
Teamwork builds interpersonal awareness: Growing a great team requires us to first build strong relationships through better understanding ourselves and others.
Teamwork celebrates diversity: Teamwork thrives from diverse ideas that come from a mixture of different genders, cultures, expertise, experience, and problem-solving approaches.
Our students, who consistently exemplify teamwork throughout November, are likely to be chosen as the Leadworthy Spotlight Winner for their class. Winners get to have a special lunch with the principals!
Please encourage your child to lead with great character each day!
🦃Annual Thanksgiving Lunch🦃

❤️SUPPORT for PARENTS❤️
Primary Care Triple P: Positive Parenting Program
(This is a one-on-one intervention)
Targeted Population:
Parents of Pre-K through 5th grade students
Parents seeking information about how to address a specific parenting or child behavior issue
The family situation is reasonably stable (i.e. not in the middle of separation/divorce, parent has psychological issues themselves, or the child has major psychological issues that have not yet been addressed)
Families will participate in a few assessments. Based on the outcome of those assessments, the Triple P Team may determine whether this level of intervention will be beneficial for a family. If it is not going to be beneficial, and they recommend a higher level of care, such as family counseling that would involve more intense involvement, the team will make an outside counseling recommendation to the family and let the referring principal know.
Program Objectives:
Increase parents’ confidence in managing common behavior problems and developmental issues
Reducing parents’ use of coercive and punitive methods of disciplining children (focusing on pre-teaching desired behaviors, rather than just reacting to a bad behavior)
Improving parents’ communication and reducing parental stress
IF you are interested, please reach out to Mrs. Williams (Principal) or Ms. Dockery (Counselor), and they will get your information submitted to the team. Thank you!

📣WE NEED YOUR HELP!📣
REMINDERS:
~Parents, please help us with the following:
- You must wait in the car rider line until all students are out of their cars. You may not drive around an unloading vehicle. This is unsafe and is not permitted.
- Remember: "a driver of a motor vehicle shall not use a wireless telecommunications device while operating a motor vehicle when passing a school building or school zone during school hours when children are present and outside the building (Arkansas Code Title 27. Transportation § 27-51-1605: Restrictions in school zones)." Therefore, you should not utilize cell phones, in any capacity, when picking up/dropping off students.
~Please remember that school begins at 7:45, and the tardy bell rings at 7:50. If students arrive at or after 7:50, you must sign them in. Please do not drop students off and drive away, as this is not optional. Thank you!
ATLAS INTERIM ASSESSMENT:
Parents, on November 9, our 3-5 students will take the ATLAS interim assessment for Science. This is the initial assessment for our new state assessment platform. The interims help prepare our students for the summative assessment given in the Spring. Therefore, it is imperative that students are not absent, late, or checked out early on this day. PLEASE adhere to this request as this assessment is secured and there is very specific protocol in place. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Thank you so much for your support!
BEHAVIOR:
Please continue to remind and encourage our young Patriots to be EXCEL leaders of HCE and "Serve like a PATRIOT!" no matter who's watching. Remind them of our numerous positive behavior incentives (daily tickets/booking vending machine & prize; Positive Principals' Pals Golden Tickets; Weekly VIP Award; Monthly Lead-worthy Spotlight; Nine Weeks Behavior Bash; daily/weekly classroom incentives) and why it is important for them to strive to be their BEST, each and every day. We want our students to be successful, and it takes us all to pour into our students daily!
We truly appreciate your support and assistance!!!
📅ATTENDANCE Matters!📅
Attendance Works: A Community Imperative
Please click on the link above to view a short, important, informational video regarding absenteeism.
ATTENDANCE INCENTIVES:
- Monthly Mystery Incentive: Beginning this month, HCE will have one day each month, unannounced, where all students who are in attendance, will receive a school-wide incentive! We are in hopes that this will encourage students to be present and on time, as they will not be eligible for the Mystery Incentive unless these things are in place.
- Class Attendance Incentive: Each class receives a star when all students are present, on time, and do not check out early. Once a class receives 20 stars, they will receive the Monthly Class Attendance Incentive (The incentive changes each month).
- Nine-Week Attendance Incentive: Each student who is on time and present for the entire day, for the entire nine-week period, will receive a special Sonic treat and a Perfect Attendance Award!
