"If you can dream it, you can do it!"
Notes from the principal
WELCOME BACK!
We had such an amazing first day! It was so nice to have a day with our students so they could get acquainted with their new classrooms before the long weekend. Next week we will review school-wide expectations as a school. Each grade will go through a series of rotations so every student hears to same message and understands the routines and expectations of the school.
On Tuesday, I will be spending time with each grade going over our cafeteria procedures. Having two hot lunch choices this year put a spin on things so we want to make sure everyone understands that when they select a choice in the morning they need to stick to it. Also, they will learn about ways to identify what lunch choice they made once they get into the cafeteria. Please remind your child at home of the plan to stick to the lunch choice so we can ensure all students get a hot lunch. If students switch choices once they enter the cafeteria, we may run out of that food option for students in later lunches. Your support in helping students understand this is greatly appreciated.
This year we will continue with our monthly assemblies. Each month the assembly will focus on a specific character value for the month.
This month’s focus is Respect. One way to think about Respect is “seeing value in all people and things & treating them with care.” Many people feel Respected in different ways. We hope this month inspires discussions with your family about what Respect means to you and how you can practice it together! Respect is 1 of 3 traits we will focus on throughout the year that helps students Be Kind. Across grade levels, students will be developing skills like perspective-taking, conflict resolution, and leadership.
Here's to a fabulous school year!
