From the Principal's Desk
October 18, 2021
Greetings FWAFA Family,
Hope your week is off to a great start! Our exciting news for the week is that next week is Red Ribbon Week. The week is hosted by our National Honor Society students and is the largest drug prevention program in the United States. The week culminates in a long-standing FWAFA tradition, Book Character/Famous Painting day. Check out the details in the newsletter.
Also, we've been having afternoon dismissal woes on Fieldcrest. Instead of parking on both sides of Fieldcrest, which creates congestion with the cars coming out of the school, please go to your designated pick-up lines. The south exit is for elementary, the east exit is for middle school, and the west exit is for high school. In the long run, this will cut down on wait times for everyone and creates a safer environment for our kids. Thank you for your patience and flexibility.
Creatively yours,
Dr. Jackson

If you happen to see The Wicked Witch of the West or Munch's "The Scream" wandering the halls on the last day of the month, you might be alarmed, but don't be surprised... It's really just a student participating in a grand old FWAFA tradition - Literary Character/Famous Artwork day.
Students must have an English, Reading, or Visual Arts teacher sign off on their costume prior to Friday, October 29th. See attached form in Jupiter Ed email.
Costumes must cover everything your uniform does. Please leave the toy weapon accessories at home.
Miss Wiggins can't wait to add some new living characters and works of art to the yearbook!
Returning to In-Person Performances
This year, we are thrilled to be returning to in-person performances! Currently tickets are on sale for Give Us Hope and As You Like It. You can find all ticketed events on our website at ArtsAcademics.org/Tickets.
We wanted to share some updates about the ticketing process. Moving forward, we will be using Eventbrite as our ticketing platform for all events. For ticketed events, you may have already noticed that a credit card processing fee is included. Like all online processing platforms, Eventbrite charges a fee to process credit cards - regardless of whether you pay online, in advance or in-person.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?
- If you plan to pay by credit card, please go ahead and purchase tickets now, online. The fee is the same online and at the door. Making your purchase in advance will speed up check-in process and limit congestion at the door.
- We will still accept cash at the door, and we have a new at-the-door ticketing process.
- You will need to present your digital ticket/QR code for entry to each performance.
- Seating is now General Admission for all shows - seats are first come, first serve.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
Everybody get excited for FWAFA’s upcoming production of Shakespeare’s As You Like It! I know what you're thinking. I just don’t get Shakespeare.
Fear not, our Advanced Acting class is working hard to produce Shakespeare as you’ve never seen it. It’s As You Like It as YOU like it! A fun, timeless, ‘Shakespeare in the Park’ show for just $5.00 a person.
Playing October 28-31 in the FWAFA Green Space.
All tickets are just $5! Get yours here: https://bit.ly/FWAFAasyoulikeit
Each week, the Advanced Acting class will be introducing you to the key characters in the play. This week, it is Orlando and Oliver.
You’ll be in stitches for this Renaissance comedy.
Eve: Oakley Serano
Eve is the caretaker of the de Bois boys. Acting as his mother figure for most of his life, Orlando goes to Eve with all his problems, and she even follows him to the forest of Arden when called into action. Eve’s hobbies include tending to her garden and breaking up the many fights between Orlando and Oliver.
Phoebe: Lauren Brown
Phoebe is a hopeless romantic who finds love in all the wrong places. Even though she is constantly chased after by the loving Silvius, Phoebe has her heart set on another. The mysterious Ganymede. Even though Ganymede has never returned her affections, Phoebe never stops trying to win over his heart. Perhaps a deal can be made between the two of them that would solve their problems once and for all.
Audrey: Sadie Brooks
Audrey is a woman of the forest. A simple goatherd, Audrey is a simple person. Though she might not always understand what is going on all the time, she remains a kind and honest person that tries her best to understand what’s going on. Perhaps she can find somebody that can balance her country ways with a strong and courtly wit?
Spelling Bee - Tuesday, November 16
Grade level English teachers will be holding classroom bees some time between now and Friday, November 5th.
Two students from each class period or homeroom will advance to the School Bee on Tuesday, November 16th, which will begin at approximately 8:15 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Study materials are posted in JupiterEd.
Log in to your JupiterEd account and select Materials from the drop down menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
Then select School Office from the drop down menu at the top of the screen.
There you will find Spelling Bee 2022 Study Lists 1-3.
Students should study ALL these words if they are hoping to compete in the school bee, since 3rd-8th students compete together at that level.
FWAFA will get to send one elementary student and one middle school student to the Area Bee, which will be held here at FWAFA on Saturday, January 29th.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Spelling Bee Coordinator - Leslie Cook. Her email is leslie.cook@fwafa.org.
