Learning Support Center Assignments
Human Resources (HR) will begin the process of contacting employees who have been assigned to temporarily support the Learning Support Centers (LSC) on Monday, August 24. Additional communications will be forthcoming as remaining LSC staffing needs are identified in the coming days. HR continues to collaborate with school-based and central office leaders to identify and reassign employees to LSC duties as needed. Any affected employee will receive notice from HR explaining his/her change in work location and duties as soon as possible. Upon receiving an assignment to a LSC, anyone who believes he/she cannot perform this work must contact the Benefits Office at Benefits@hcps.org to explore options based on his/her individual circumstances.
Overview of Preschool Professional Learning Activities
New CareFirst Diabetes Virtual Care Program
CareFirst, along with Onduo, a leading diabetes management company, has launched a new Diabetes Virtual Care program. This program is designed to support people living with type 2 diabetes by providing access to experts and health tools through a mobile app – provided at no cost to eligible members. Eligible participants can receive certain diabetes monitoring devices at no cost and participate in private one-on-one virtual coaching. Participants will also have virtual access to an endocrinologist or certified diabetes educator, as needed, to receive personal recommendations and guidelines with managing symptoms, and who will coordinate care with your current treating physician.
CareFirst will be reaching out to eligible members with type 2 diabetes by email and home mailing between August 17 and August 28 to encourage those individuals to activate an Onduo account. Eligible members who receive communication from CareFrist and Onduo who activate their account will be eligible for a $20 Amazon gift card, which can be used towards the supplies needed to maintain their health. Questions about this program may be directed to CareFirst via the telephone number found on the back of your medical ID card.
