Hello CTE Families!
Thank you for a successful book fair! Our families helping means a lot to us and the students are able to have books in our library because of the great turnout. The parking lot at the primary building has had students riding bikes and scooters which could cause issues with safety. Please help us remind students to walk the bikes and scooters on the school sidewalks and parking lots to help keep them safe. Also, as we continue construction, please be mindful of parking in designated parking spots and following the traffic patterns of the parking lot and refrain from parking in school bus zones. Thank you so much for the help with keeping kids safe. Have a wonderful October and enjoy the fall weather!

What a month September was! On September 12th, our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders got to go see the author Aaron Reynold at Benton Elementary. He was a really fun presenter who kept the students entertained for almost an hour talking about his writing process and sharing his bestselling “Creepy Series”: Creepy Carrots, Creepy Pair of Underwear, and the just released Creepy Crayon! It was a priceless opportunity for our students. Many of them purchased autographed copies of Aaron’s books. The copies we bought for the library are in high demand!
Our fall book fair was also in September and words cannot express the gratitude I have for the CTE community and the support it showed for our library through volunteering, shopping, and making donations. It was the most successful book fair I’ve had the pleasure of overseeing. We were able to purchase over $1000-worth of Scholastic books for the library! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Once the book fair was gone, we were able to turn our attention back to providing engaging library lessons that encourage a love of reading and that support classroom learning and themes.
Happy Reading!

P.S. Get ready for some excitement in October–the Haunted Library is returning!! Look for it on Monday, October 31st!!!
