Thank you for sharing your children with us. It is so fun to see them learning in class, playing together on the playground, working to solve problems, and genuinely happy to be here. The joy and excitement in the building are contagious.
Here are some exciting things that our students are learning:
Kindergarten is studying their unit on Kings and Queens. I love that our curriculum integrates reading, history, and art into the studies.
1st Grade is doing a unit on poetry in their writing. Students were using their writing skills and making shaped poems.
2nd Grade just completed a research unit. Typically the students would share with the other classes, but with COVID restrictions you would think that would be impossible. Guess what! Nothing is impossible at New Vision, they did classroom Google Meets to share their writing.
3rd Grade is starting a unit on the Solar System. I can't wait to see how they integrate writing, science, and art into their unit. Also a huge congratulations to our 3rd graders for earning 6,886 crests this month. WOW! I challenge them to get to 10,000 next month!
One of my favorite things about New Vision and the Core Knowledge Curriculum is that nothing is isolated. Curriculum is integrated into hand-on, engaging learning that is linked together. What a brilliant way to learn.
As always, thank you for sharing your children with us. It is truly our honor to partner with you.
With extreme gratitude,
Mary Baker

Happy Friday Nighthawks!
Parents, we are so very excited to be welcoming our 6-8 grade students back for full time in person learning next week. Please remember that this will result in Driveline times being extended a bit longer than normal. Please be patient and kind through this growth process, we are all in this together and your patience and kindness is much appreciated!
As we move into full time in-person learning for K-8 students we are asking parents for their support in remembering that during our driveline times we are extremely stretched thin in coverage. With our differentiated start times and entrances we need your help in keeping our students and staff as safe as possible. To do so please remember the following:
Drop of Times:
4-5 Grade: 7:30-7:50
6-8 Grade: 7:50-8:10
No student should be dropped off prior to 7:30 as we will not have adult supervision outside prior to this time.
If you have siblings in both groups your older student will be able to come inside and be in a supervised location. IF YOUR 6-8 GRADE STUDENT DOES NOT HAVE A 4/5 SIBLING THEY WILL BE ASKED TO STAY OUTSIDE UNTIL 7:50 am.
Start Times:
4-5 Grade: 8:00 am
6-8 Grade: 8:15 am
Students who come in after these times will be considered tardy.
Pick Up Times:
4-5 Grade: 3:15-3:35
6-8 Grade: 3:35-4:00
Thank you for all that you do for our Nighthawk Nation we are excited to have all of our students back with us starting next week!
Have a great weekend,
Marian Hejl
