A Note from Mrs. Taylor

It's hard to believe there is less than a month before we wrap up another school year! The next month is going to be busy but full a lot of great performances to wrap up the year!

Congrats to the Mustang Concert Bands for ALL FOUR receiving Sweepstakes! We were the only program in our Region 6A contest to do that!!! Another congrats to the guard students who competed at Solo and Ensemble and performed beautifully! This semester has been a huge success and we are going to end strong with some great concerts and one last contest at the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest!

BAND FEES ALL DUE AT THIS TIME; URGENT: ACTION REQUIRED

ANY OUTSTANDING FEES should be taken care of by now, if they are not, please take care of that then send an e-mail to Mrs. Taylor to get your student removed from the LOP.

At this time, all fees should be made through CHARMS & SKYWARD. If you paid SKYWARD fees in CHARMS at the beginning of the year, you should see where that was transferred and your SKYWARD account should not show an outstanding balance. IF you see an outstanding SKYWARD fee that you paid through CHARMS, please let me know so I can follow up and ensure that your student is not on the LOP by mistake.

If you have an outstanding balance that does not NET to ZERO, students HAVE BEEN ADDED TO LOP and unable to attend any end of year Assembly or major event coming up. Please take a minute to double check that your CHARMS balance is Paid in Full and that any SKYWARD fees are also paid, UNLESS the CHARMS credit nets that to zero as mentioned above.

Eligibility (some new)

Band End of Year Activities, with the exception of CONTESTS, are co-curricular and not affected by eligibility.

TSSEC is after school is out, so also not affected by eligibility.

We will be traveling with Lakeview Centennial HS on Charter buses to go down to Austin for the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest on Saturday, May 27, 2023.

6 AM Call time at Lakeview Centennial HS

6:30 AM Departure

Breakfast on route (we will stop)

10:45 AM Approx. Arrival at Pflugerville HS for Woodwind/ Brass Drop-off

noon Approx. arrival to Connally HS for Percussion Drop-off

Lunch will be uber eats, grub hub, or food trucks on campus. Students must remain on campus at all times unless given permission by director.

5 PM Approx. pick-up time from Connally HS

5:45 PM departure from Connally HS

6 PM Approx. pick-up time from Pflugerville HS

6:15 PM Approx. Departure

7:45 PM Dinner at Bucees

8:30 PM Depart Bucees

10:15 PM Arrival back to LCHS

Students will be provided with a $40 cash stipend for meals on this trip. You will sign this out from Mrs. Taylor when you arrive to LCHS.

A parent needs to be present for registration to sign forms and make deposit. If a different registration time is needed, e-mail Mrs. Taylor. Friday evening between 5-9 PM may be an option for wind players that need an adjustment for registration time.

This form will actually be taken to a doctor to be completed. This can be done at a regular check-up over the summer or at any CVS/ CareNOW. ALL physicals need to be completed and returned by July 10, 2023!
