This Week's Standards

Math
In math this week, we will be focusing on standard 4.NBT.6 which deals with dividing. In class, students will learn the following division methods:
      1. Long Division
      2. Partial Quotient
      3. Array Model

      ELA

      In language arts this week, we will be focusing on standards RI.4.6 and L.4.1.f which deal with comparing primary and secondary sources and complete sentences. By the end of the week, students will be expected to...

      1. ...determine if a passage is a primary or secondary source.
      2. ...compare and contrast information found in two sources about the same topic.
      3. ...recognize incomplete sentences (fragments and run-ons).
      4. ...correct fragments and run-on sentences to form complete sentences.
      Event Information

      Blues School House Rocks @ The Mandalay Bay

      We have limited spots for this special session of the Blues School House Rocks presentation. Your RSVP, consent form (found on the Community Board), and $5 payment is required for all attendees. The music hall can be cold, it is recommended that you also bring a jacket.

      Priority will be given to students, then open spots will be filled with siblings, learning coaches and adults.

      Please RSVP via the Community Board.

      Writing Workshop

      Our next writing workshop will be covering Composition 4: Unit 3 - Writing a Book Review. You may skip this unit in your composition course until we get to it in January.
