Every Friday is Reilly Ram Spirit day. Students can wear a Reilly spirit shirt with their uniform bottoms.

Once a month, students can participate in our Dollar Jean Day Fundraiser, which will be held on the last Friday of each month (beginning in September). Students who want to participate will bring $1 on Thursday to wear jeans on Friday. If the student pays on Friday the cost is $2. We will begin the Dollar Jean Day in September. We will put reminders in the newsletter the week before the Dollar Jean Day.

Breakfast will be served from 7:15 a.m. - 7:35 a.m. in the cafeteria. If you would like your student to eat breakfast at school, please ensure that they arrive early so that they have time to eat and are ready for instruction to start at 7:45 a.m. If your child arrives after 7:35 a.m., they will be provided with a breakfast. Please note that instruction will begin at 7:45 a.m. If they are eating at that time, it can impact their instruction. Breakfast is provided at no cost to all students.

Lunch is provided at no cost to all students. Due to current safety guidelines in place, we are unable to accommodate parents on campus during lunch at this time. If there are any changes during the year, we will send out communication.

Based on Dallas ISD Protocols, campus water fountains will remain open with the following guidelines: Water fountains will be on in buildings while adhering to a strict cleaning schedule. Students may be allowed to bring a reusable water bottle for use throughout the day and then take home for cleaning.

Last school year, Reilly PTA in partnership with Comerica Bank installed water bottle fillers in each hallway at Reilly. We highly encourage students to bring refillable water bottles to school each day.

The academic success of every student enrolled in Dallas Independent School District is important. Daily school attendance and on-time arrival are critical to this success. By attending school each day, students receive the benefit of teacher-led instruction, peer discussion, building each day’s learning on the previous day’s instruction, participation in a variety of school activities and the opportunity to grow as individuals.

Every year, Dallas ISD asks parents to complete an official attendance notification and truancy pledge. Previously this form has been provided by the campus but, this year, parents can complete this form online. Please click here to complete the required form.

Parents/Guardians can monitor student attendance records via Parent Portal on an ongoing basis.

Did You Know?

Students are more likely to be involved in class, be successful, and stay on track for graduation if they miss fewer than 10 school days.

• Starting in kindergarten, too many absences can cause a student to fall behind in school.
• By 6th grade, amount of absences is one of the three signs that a student may drop out of high school.
• Missing 10%, or about 18 days, of the school year can drastically affect academic success. It may also jeopardize promotion to the next grade level and receiving class credit.
• Students can be chronically absent even if they only miss a day or two of school every few weeks.

Dallas ISD requires a written explanation or note to excuse an absence. It is recommended that students turn in absence notes within three days after returning to school. However, notes may be accepted within the semester in which the absence occurred.

All students will enter through the main entrance on Lippitt. Morning drop off begins at 7:15 a.m. School starts at 7:45 a.m. We recommend that you drop off your child no later than 7:40 a.m. Students are expected to be in class and ready for instruction at 7:45 a.m.

Arrival Reminders

1. Lippitt and Sunland are one-way streets before and after school.

2. Parents can drop off in the driveway, or on Lippitt. The lane closest to the school on Lippitt is a through lane (Please do not exit your car). If you would like to get out of your car to assist or walk your student, please park on the opposite side of Lippitt.

3. Do not block driveways or alleys.

4. Please adhere to directions given by campus personnel on duty.

5. Follow all directions on the Arrival Map.

6. Parents will not be allowed to walk their child to the main entrance. Parents will have to remain behind the designated blue line.

7. While on district property (this includes dropping off a student at the entrance, and picking up after school), visitors must have their masks on.

8. Be respectful to our staff and other parents.

Dismissal is at 3:15 p.m. each day. Please ensure your child is picked up no later than 3:20 p.m. If you are late, your child will be taken to the main entrance for pick up. The dismissal locations are as follows:

• Pre-K students and Ms. Settimi's Kindergarten class will be dismissed at the exterior door of their individual classrooms located on the Sunland side (first wing) of the building.

• Kindergarten students (except Ms. Settimi) will be dismissed at the exterior entrance on Sunland (first wing).
  

• 1st and 2nd Grade students will be dismissed at the exterior door on Sunland (second wing). Parents will line up based on the grade level. Parents will display the student name card.

• 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade students will be dismissed on the Neering side of the building.

Dismissal Reminders

3. Students cannot be picked up, or dropped off in the middle of the street.

4. To prevent traffic from backing up, please do not stop in the middle of the street unless staff, parents, and students are in the crosswalk.

6. Please adhere to directions given by campus personnel on duty.

7. If you are unable to find a parking space, please make one round around the school.

8. For the safety of all, we encourage you not to bring animals on campus during dismissal. If you do, you need to maintain control of your animal and keep your distances from other families and staff.

9. Follow all directions on the Dismissal Map.

10. Parents will need to remain behind the designated blue lines during dismissal.

11. While on district property (this includes dropping off a student at the entrance, and picking up after school), visitors must have their masks on.

Effective Tuesday, August 10, to protect staff and students from the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant of the coronavirus, Dallas ISD is temporarily requiring all staff, students and visitors to wear masks when on district property.
