A Message From Mrs. Caudill
Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming! Conferences will be offered both In-Person and Virtual, with the preferred method being In-Person. You can sign-up for the mode that works best for you.
Conferences are scheduled for:
• Tuesday, November 28th - 4:00-7:00 PM (In-Person Conferences)
• Thursday, November 30th - 1:00 - 7:00 PM (In-Person Conferences)
• Friday, December 1st - 1:00 - 3:45 PM (Virtual Conferences)
PLEASE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO WHICH KIND OF CONFERENCE MODE (IN-PERSON OR VIRTUAL) YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR. We have reserved Friday, December 1st for virtual conferences. If you need a different mode than what is offered on the day that you are available, please reach out to your child’s teacher to make arrangements.
Please note that Thursday and Friday, November 30 and December 1st are half days for students. Students will be dismissed at 12:15 PM on those two days. No lunch will be served.
By visiting the Sign Up Genius link below you can select conference times for all your children's teachers at once. Simply click on the grade level for the teacher you would like to meet and then scroll down to his/her name to select the time you would like. You will do the same for humanities and special services teachers as well.
Tabs are organized by grade level. Please read the dates carefully. The sign up closes on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at 11:45 PM. Any changes to appointments after that time need to be made through the Amerman office by calling 248-465-2100.
Stay well,
Mrs. Caudill

Inclusion Week- T Shirt Design Contest
What is inclusion?
Inclusion is a way of recognizing, appreciating, and including people of all backgrounds, races, genders, ethnicities, disabilities, etc. Inclusion week is a week to appreciate the entire district and the choices we make to choose to include. Your shirt can represent this however you choose. BE CREATIVE!! We All Belong!!
Please Submit Your Inclusion Week T-Shirt Designs:
- This contest design is open to early childhood, elementary, Cooke, and middle school buildings. High school will be our "voters."
- Designs will be due 11/21 prior to Thanksgiving break.
- Groups/Classes are allowed to submit together or you can submit individually!
- The shirt you design will be representing inclusion throughout our Northville Public Schools community.
- Make sure your shirt design highlights the NPS community and shows us what inclusion means to you!!
- Questions? Email Kelsey Mikiciuk at mikiciukke@northvilleschools.org

IB Lunch & Learn, K-5 parents
K-5 Parents/Guardians - Please join us on November 28th, 12:00 at Northville High School for a Lunch & Learn focused on our International Baccalaureate Programme in Northville Schools. IB strives to develop students who will build a better world through intercultural understanding and respect, alongside a healthy appetite for learning and excellence. MYP (Middle Years Programme) is a curriculum framework which supports all students grades 6-10. Both Meads Mill and Hillside middle schools are accredited; therefore, each student is considered an MYP student.
Come learn more about the IB Programme and have your questions answered. Dr Sandra Brock, Director of Instructional Programs & Services and Dr. James Davis, IB Coordinator and teacher at Northville High School will begin the presentation at 12:00pm at Northville High School. A parent panel will also share their experiences with the IB Programme.
Lunch will be provided but seats are limited, registration available and required to attend. You will receive a confirmation email upon completion of this registration form to confirm your seat.
Questions can be emailed to Tanya Pitkin, pitkinta@northvilleschools.org

PTA News you can use!
We had a blast at the run, and the fun continues! Because we reached our stretch donation goal, every student will enjoy a popcorn party next Friday, November 17th on our half day. The top two fundraisers from each class will tape Mrs. Caudill to the wall!
Class Directory Now Available!
The PTA & Amerman staff worked together to complete a full digital directory of all Amerman families (minus those who opted out). Our hope is that this will make it easier to contact families for parties, play dates, and any communication needed with classmates. This is an exclusive PTA perk - all families are included in the directory regardless of PTA involvement, but ONLY PTA members have access to the directory! Sign up for a membership at AmermanPTA.com.

Leader in Me November Focus: Habit 2 - Begin with the End in Mind
We will be working on Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind this month.
Begin with the End in Mind means to begin each day, task, or project with a clear vision of your desired direction and destination, and then continue by flexing your proactive muscles to make things happen.
One of the best ways to incorporate Habit 2 into your life is to develop a Personal Mission Statement. It focuses on what you want to be and do. It is your plan for success. Plan ahead and set some goals - begin with the end in mind.
Great Books for Habit #2 - Begin With the End in Mind
- The BFG by Roald Dahl
- When I Grow Up by Sean Covey
- Click Clack Moo Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin
- Little Bunny on the Move by Peter McCarty
- The School Story by Andrew Clements
- Too Many Tamales by Gary Soto
- Plant a Kiss by Amy Krouse
If you would like to recognize your child for using Habit 2: Be Begin with the End in Mind at home, please fill out the following Bobcat Boost and return it to your child's teacher.
