Dear Guadalupe Families,

At this point, I’m sure you are aware that our well-loved principal, Mr. Izor is leaving Guadalupe. I know that we are all shocked and saddened by the news, as he has brought so much to Guadalupe in such a short time. We will truly miss his enthusiasm, leadership and “we’re all in this together” attitude, but mostly, we’ll miss the way he made each one of our children feel special and important. In one of my first conversations with Mr. Izor, he told me that his goal was to learn every child’s name by the end of the year. At 600+ kids, that seemed quite a feat…but every time I saw him at school with students, darn if he didn’t know them all! He spent his time, not in his office, but outside…during drop off, recess, lunch and pickup. He’s been a presence in the classroom, demonstrating his support to not only the students, but teachers as well. Additionally, he’s always made himself available to parents. In working closely with him representing the Home and School Club, I have experienced how committed he’s been to supporting us in our efforts to provide enrichment programs to the classrooms as well as community events. For all these reasons, and more, and on behalf of the Guadalupe Home and School Club, I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Mr. Izor. While we are sad that he will no longer serve as principal at Guadalupe, we want to wish him the very best in his new job and future endeavors!

Staff changes in the middle of the school year are always difficult. As far as the Home and School Club’s fundraising efforts, planned programs and upcoming events, Mr. Izor has assured us that he will work closely with our new interim principal, Dr. Stark, to ensure that everything continues, business as usual. Mr. Izor has, and will continue to be spending a large part of his remaining time working to make this transition as smooth as possible for everyone.

So, in true Grizzly fashion, let’s continue working together to ensure that our kids have the best possible experience here at Guadalupe!

Dear Parents,

I would like to say THANK YOU to all those who participated in our last month’s Chef’s Night Out at The Habit.

It was a huge success and we raised $512.00 for our students! Money that will be spent to support great programs and activities for our children.

This month we will hold our Chef Night Out at Chipotle on Thursday, October 26th where we will receive 50% of the proceeds as a donation! I hope we have even more participation this month.

Again, thank you for caring and supporting our kids!

This year, School of Rock is coming back to help us Rock the Walk at Guadalupe's Annual Walkathon. There will be live music, games, and an instrument petting zoo again.

All money raised from the Walkathon goes to pay for our Recess 101 and Starting Arts classes for every student.

We are still collecting Boxtops until Friday, October 27th. The class who brings in the most Boxtops wins a donut party!

Make sure to put your child's name and teacher on their collection sheet before turning them into your teacher so their classroom will get the credits.

After School Movie - Ramona and Beezus (1st – 5th grades only)

When: Thursday, November 16 th (parent/teacher conference week)

Time: 1:15pm - 3:15pm in the school cafeteria

Cost: $15 fee includes a snack, a drink and 2 hours of childcare!
