We Are Learning....
We would also like to take a minute to say thank you to all of our pre-k families for the wonderful year we had. We know how hard it can be to send your babies off to pre-k, for a lot of families, this was your students first time away from home. You put your trust in us even though we were strangers. We want to thank you for partnering with us to give your child the best experience we could to start off their educational journey here in Aubrey ISD.
We hope you all enjoy your summer break with your families and we can't wait to see you back in the fall!!!
Love,
Your Fuller Elementary Pre-K Teachers and Paras
Home Practice
While we want the students to enjoy their summer break, here are some skills you can work on during the break if you choose:
- Alphabet (letter names and sounds)
- Around the house or in the car go on a letter hunt, trying to find and identify different letters
- Writing their name
- Rainbow write your name, using different colored markers or crayons to write you name over and over for practice
- Practice writing you name in shave cream or cool whip
- Use playdough rolled into "snakes" to create the letters of your name
- Counting (to 30, then higher if able)
- Practice counting while you are waiting for something, while taking a walk, or on a drive
- Practice counting items around the house (toys, chairs, tables, snacks)
- Make a trail mix snack and count the number of items you put in it (ex. 10 raisins, 12 cheerios, 8 m&ms, etc)
- Read to your child as often as you can. You can always mix it up and make a tent/fort to read inside of, ready outside or any other fun thing you and your student can think of. As you are reading look for rhyming words or be on the look out for a certain letter to help reinforce these skills. Also encourage your child to tell you the story as they use the pictures to help guide them or have them retell a story back to you in their own words.
Attendance
Here at Fuller, our campus wide attendance goal is 96%.
During the first nine weeks of school, five grade levels met or exceeded the campus' attendance goal.
Here at Fuller, we will continue to recognize attendance, engage students and families, monitor attendance data, provide early outreach and respond to barriers of attendance.
Families, please remember a habit of attendance is a school readiness skill. If your child is going to be absent, please notify your child's classroom teacher and our campus registrar sharrison@aubreyisd.net.
Please Remember...
****As the weather begins to change please be sure that your child's change of clothes in their backpack is weather appropriate***** And please label all of your child's items.****
*** Bikers must walk their bikes across crosswalks and on school property ***
According to Texas law crosswalks are for pedestrians and not cyclist. Therefore, students MUST walk their bicycles across all crosswalks. We also ask that bike riders walk their bikes when on campus for safety of all.
-Pre-K does follow the Aubrey ISD Dress Code
-If you are changing your child’s transportation for dismissal please email FESTransportation@aubreyisd.net
