Dr. Calvert's Notes:
I am so proud of our staff and students! Everyone is working incredibly hard, and most of our students are consistently living out our BCE Credo: Work Hard, Show Respect, Be Kind, and don't Make Excuses! Thank you for your support in getting the students to school on time and prepared to learn! If you ever have a question or concern please contact your child's teacher. Enjoy your weekend Cubs!
REMINDER: No School on Monday, September 4th
Repeated Information:
Car Signs: Please continue to display your car sign. If you come to pick up your student without your car sign, you may be asked to park, come inside, and show a valid ID before leaving with your child. Safety is everyone's responsibility--thank you for your support! If you ever need a new or additional car sign please contact your child's teacher.
4 Legged Friends at The Creek
We all LOVE our pets but for the safety and comfort level of our students please do not walk or carry your dogs on campus during school hours. This includes during drop-off and dismissal. They are more than fine to ride along in your car, we are just asking that you don't walk them near the front of the school or front patio. Thank you for understanding!

Lunch Visitors
Lunch Visitors:
- If you would like to eat lunch with your child, please sign up using the form linked below. We have a limited number of visitor tables set up for each lunch period. Visitors must sit at a designated table with their student only. They may not bring other friends to the visitor table.
- Keeping with our tradition, we will not open the cafeteria to visitors until after September 5th. This allows our students to learn the cafeteria expectations and procedures, as well as make friends at lunch during the first few weeks of school.
- You must bring a valid ID when you come to check in for lunch visits.
- Thank you for your support!

Admin Updates
Is your student getting home a different way?
Whether it is one day change or a permanent change, if your child is picked up, please notify your teacher and the front office. If you child normally rides a daycare bus, it is your responsibility to contact the daycare and let them know that they are not to be picked up. If your child is absent, it is also your responsibility to contact the campus and the daycare. This practice saves everyone time at dismissal.
Personal Electronic Devices On Campus
Does your student have a smart watch or phone? According to District Policy, they can not be used on campus. Students must keep these devices in their backpacks and turned off during the day. Teachers or administrators may confiscate phones, watches or other personal technology devices. Any disciplinary action taken will be in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
GCISD Notice: HB: 114 - Changes to School Policy Regarding E-Cigarettes, Vaping and Related Substances
Texas House Bill 114
Effective 9/1/2023, Texas House Bill 114 requires a student to be placed in the DAEP if the student possesses, uses, or is under the influence of, or sells, gives, or delivers marijuana, THC, or an e-cigarette to another person within 300 feet of school property or at a school-related event.
Parents may find the full version of the Bill here: https://capitol.texas.gov/.../88R/billtext/pdf/HB00114F.pdf
The District encourages all families to talk with their students regarding the dangers associated with vaping or drug usage and to discuss the implications of this new law with your children, emphasizing the importance of adhering to school policies and laws for their own welfare and for the betterment of the school community as a whole. Your cooperation and support in ensuring that our district remains a safe and healthy educational environment for our students is deeply appreciated
