Week of May 18th
Below you will find information about kindergarten registration, remote learning, and collection of 1:1 devices. Please read over this information and mark these dates on your calendar. If you know of families that will have a child that will reach the age of five on or before August 31, 2020 please share this information with them.
We will be sending out detailed information on the process of closing out school in the next few weeks. In order to help with this process, we will continue to have the drop off bin outside the front off (weather permitting) so that you can drop off completed work and library books. If your child has a library book checked out from the media center or their classroom, please return these books to the bin by May 29th. Weekend food bags will be outside and ready for pick up on Thursday from 10AM-8PM.
Online Kindergarten Registration
Beginning May 11, parents in Onslow County will have the opportunity to complete kindergarten registration online. The registration site will be housed on the Onslow County Schools district website at www.onslow.k12.nc.us and any child domiciled in Onslow County who will reach age five on or before August 31, 2020 is eligible for kindergarten.
As part of the kindergarten registration process, parents will need to submit digital copies (scans or pictures) of the following with their registration:
- proof of birth date (birth certificate)
- proof of domicile such as a current (within 30 days) electric or water bill showing the parent/guardian name and address
- copy of the parent/guardian photo ID
Immunization records and the North Carolina Health Assessment will be required prior to the student’s first day but may also be uploaded with the enrollment packet.

District-issued student laptops requiring repair can be dropped off between 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the following locations:
Locations:
Dixon Elementary School
Hunters Creek Elementary School
Jacksonville High School
Northside High School

Swansboro High School
*There will be a Technician in the front office area during these times to receive laptops.
The student/parent should plan on the student being without a device for the following 24 hours.
Students may pick up their laptops at the same location on the following day between the hours of 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
THE STUDENT MUST BE PRESENT TO PICK UP THE DEVICE ONCE IT IS REPAIRED BECAUSE THE STUDENT WILL BE REQUIRED TO LOGIN TO THE DEVICE WHILE IT IS ON OUR NETWORK.
