Principal's Update

I am reaching out to you all on behalf of the entire staff at Arcola. We fully realize what an incredibly difficult time this is for all of you on so many levels. This is an unusual set of circumstances, with so many unknown answers. What I can tell you is the we care, we miss you and we are here for you working behind the scenes each day to try and figure out what we CAN do. Our primary goal is to be sure you and your families are healthy and safe and for you to know that we are thinking of you all each day.

I wanted to be sure to address a few key points:

Educere- this is an educational tool/resource. It is something that can keep us all moving forward with something to do educationally. It is not mandatory nor graded.

Communication- at the moment we are working with teachers to figure out next steps so all communication is being channeled to the following address information@methacton.org so that we can work through all of the issues and questions effectively and efficiently. It is also important for you to stay current by reading the messages from Dr. Zerbe as well as visiting the district website.

Activities- Please check the district website for all updates and cancellations.

How to talk about COVID with your children/families: Please check the district website for information and resources.

As a parent I am right here with you. My suggestions are to try and do something each day that you CAN do. Listen to music, read, draw, talk, take pictures, play games, journal, pray, eat together and get fresh air. Although this is a difficult time, it is found time, make the best and most of it that you can, stay present and positive and find things that bring your soul energy and joy.

Please know that we are meeting virtually and talking daily with our fellow administrators and building staff members. We are working hard to stay connected, positive and solution-oriented. I will continue to update you each week. We are sending you all positive thoughts, peace and prayers for each one of you. Thank you for being an incredible community, I am proud to be a leader and a member of this loving family!
