Message from the Principal
Although we have obviously focused on safety and training our staff and students on new safety protocols, we are excited to engage our students in the classrooms and focus upon our primary mission: student learning and success. (please take a moment to click on the tab below to read my personal leadership vision for our high school) I wholeheartedly believe that strong relationships between teachers and students to be the second most important factor in determining a student's success in school. What is the most important? strong support for student learning by parents and guardians.
Therefore it's critical to have strong communication between school leadership and parents and teachers and parents/guardians. The parent newsletters will occur every other week and will usually be sent out Friday afternoons. They will be posted to our high school facebook page, school website and also sent out to parent emails. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT WE HAVE CORRECT PARENT/GUARDIAN EMAILS FOR ALL STUDENTS. Our office staff is working to confirm correct parent emails.
Always feel free to call or email me if you have questions,

Parents guide to Google Classroom - VERY IMPORTANT
It is very important for parents to understand the Google Classroom learning platform. Keep in mind that if we were to shift to a distance learning plan due to Covid, all instruction would be delivered for traditional students via Google Classroom. PL teachers would also use Google Classroom to connect with their students. Please take a few moments to watch this easy to follow video posted above that explains key elements of Google Classroom that parents should know to support their students.
Keep in mind you can have access to email summaries of your students google classroom work when teachers invite parents/guardians to their google classrooms. I've linked a page below that will address parent/guardian questions regarding your students google classrooms. You must have a gmail account to receive email summaries from teachers.
It is VERY important that we have your correct email address on file. As we have moved to a new data information system, Infinite Campus, we are in the process of checking to make sure we have correct parent emails.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions.

Covid 19 Safety and Preparedness
What does this mean:
We can continue in-person school at full capacity.
We need to maintain safety protocols, particularly mask-wearing to keep our numbers low.
We need to be prepared in case we have to shift to a A-B schedule or perhaps distance learning.
If we were to move into the orange level for two consecutive weeks, this could trigger a shift to an A-B schedule where half of the school would attend on any given day. PLEASE NOTE WE ARE CURRENTLY IN THE YELLOW LEVEL.
I've also linked below the district's Covid-19 return to learn plan which provides specific details for each color level and corresponding safety protocols.
Parent Portal Information - Infinite Campus
This will give you access to the following at this time.
- Food Service Balance
- Change contact information
- Student attendance
Here is the link the district pushed out for the parents to login to parent portal:
I've linked below a tutorial to using parent portal on both mobile devices and tablets. Please don't hesitate to contact our office staff if you need assistance.
Thank you for your patience during this transition

What is Title 1?

Safety Drills
This week we will conduct our First security drill with a "soft lockdown" drill. This will allow us to practice securing the school and classrooms in case of a external safety threat in the general area. During this type of lockdown, no outside entrance to school will be allowed and no students will be able to leave classrooms. However instruction will continue as normal within classrooms.
Please remember these drills are not designed to frighten or alarm parents or student. We want to make sure our staff and students are prepared to react calmly and safely in case of an emergency.
Thank you for your support of our student's safety.
