Salthawk Staff and Families,
We are moving at a rapid pace as we close out the school year. There are events and activities to keep up with and getting from one place to the other can be all-consuming this time of year. I would encourage our parents to pause during these special moments and allow yourself to be present.
Recently, I found myself in a whirlwind getting from one place to another. I caught myself and realized the pace of everything going on at the end of a school year can be a blur. I, too, have been guilty of not slowing down to enjoy the many wonderful things going on with our students as we end the school year.
Perhaps the lesson is learned. I encourage you, to appreciate what is around you and to be present in the moment with your child. It is good to be driven, have a strong work ethic, and be committed to goals. But remind yourself to also enjoy the moments along the way, as we close out the school year. Take time to share a laugh with a teacher, thank someone who has gone the extra step to help your child, or thank a principal for their leadership during a challenging year.
I have tried to focus on all of the positives and great opportunities I have had during my tenure as superintendent in this awesome district. Building relationships, seeing student successes, and realizing the opportunities for the future are at the forefront as we close out the school year. “Thank You” for the continued support and for trusting us with our most precious resource, your children.
