PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
On what turned out to be a chilly day of our Laps for Leadership fundraising run, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for contributing to the resounding success of this event.
Today was more than just a fundraising run; it was a day of "fun-raising" in the truest sense. The enthusiasm and energy on the Altona track were infectious, and it was an absolute joy to see so many happy faces circling the track. The spirit of community and togetherness that filled the air was palpable, and it warmed our hearts to witness your unwavering support.
Families flocked to our school to cheer on our incredible students, and the atmosphere was nothing short of electric. The encouragement, smiles, and cheers from the sidelines were a powerful reminder of the strong community feeling we have built at Eagle Crest. This event was not just about reaching our fundraising goal; it was about fostering a sense of belonging and wellness within our school.
Speaking of our fundraising goal, we are thrilled to inform you that we are getting closer to our target of $23,500. Your generous donations have propelled us forward, and we are deeply grateful for your support. We want to take this opportunity to let you know that we will continue to accept donations for one more week, in case you haven't had a chance to contribute yet. To make your donations, you can send cash or checks in the fundraising envelopes sent home last week, or conveniently donate online using our fundraising link: (https://givebutter.com/Laps4Leadership). Every contribution, no matter the amount, makes a difference and brings us one step closer to our goal.
Your support has been invaluable in ensuring the success of this year's Laps for Leadership PTO fundraiser. Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of our students and in the strength of our school community. Let's keep the momentum going for one more week and continue to work together to provide our students with the best possible educational experience.
Warmly,
Amanda

DEAN OF STUDENTS' UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
As you may have noticed, the weather has started to change! As it gets colder and we prepare for winter, we wanted to send a reminder about what you can expect and how to best ensure your child is prepared. We will do outdoor arrival and recesses as much as possible when the weather allows students to be safe outside. If there is too much precipitation or the wind chill has dropped too low, students will be brought inside.
Before school you can expect an email and a text message alert for Indoor Arrival. All Kinder - 5th Grade students should enter at the front entrance of the building at 8:20am. Students can still enter the building at 8:15am for breakfast.
We will continue to monitor the conditions throughout the day and will make decisions about recesses for each grade level. Please send your child with clothing that will keep them warm and dry outside. If students want to play in the snow, we do require them to have snow boots.
Right now the weather may change drastically from the morning to the afternoon, and we have A LOT OF LOST AND FOUND ITEMS. If your child loses their jacket, hat, gloves or other items, feel free to stop by the office any day before 4pm and you and your child can check the Lost and Found.
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney
Dean of Students
Eagle Crest Elementary School

All families are welcome to join us as we march outside around the school.
All students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to school and should plan to arrive with the full costume on and ready to go. Costumes must be school appropriate and not interfere with the learning environment. Please do not send students with anything violent (weapons, blood, etc.), or costumes that could be a safety hazard since we will be marching. Blow up costumes and masks can only be worn during the parade. Individual teachers will send information home regarding classroom celebrations.
🇺🇸 CALLING ALL VETERANS! 🇺🇸
In honor of Veterans Day, Eagle Crest School warmly invites local veterans from our community to join us for a special moment during our morning announcements in November. We would be honored to have you lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
If you are a veteran or know someone who is, please reach out to Amanda Holden at holden_amanda@svvsd.org or call 303-485-6073 to schedule your visit. Your presence would mean the world to us as we pay tribute to your service.
PTO UPDATE
Dear Eagle Crest Families,
Eagle Crest Students had so Much FUN Today!
Thank you to all who came out to support Eagle Crest students at Laps 4 Leadership. Today’s fun run showed what makes our school so special–teachers jogging alongside their students, runners trying their hardest, older kids cheering for younger ones, and the younger kids so thrilled to give high fives to the “big kids.”
Many people worked diligently to put this event together. We are grateful to:
Ms. Holden and Ms. Cheney for their work–MCing today, creating the running schedule, and coordinating so many behind-the-scenes details.
Teachers and staff, who somehow managed their students in the happy chaos of the day.
Custodial staff for providing the tables, compost, trash and recycling bins we needed.
Parents, families, and friends who donated, fundraised, and cheered.
Volunteers who helped set up this morning, counted laps, cleaned up, and so much more!
Our generous sponsors! The kids had a blast warming up with Ripple Effect–one of our Premier sponsors! We are very grateful to Inspired Piano and Tutoring Excellence who also are sponsoring at the Premier level. If you frequent any of these businesses, please thank them for their generosity to our school.
There is still time to donate! We are so close to meeting our $23,000 goal! With your support, we can reach our goal and continue to fund field trips, paraprofessional salaries, and in-school enrichment programs. Click here to donate: https://givebutter.com/Laps4Leadership Cash and checks (made out to Eagle Crest PTO) are great, too! Make sure to tell us which student you are supporting so their class team will get credit!
Treat Yourself AND Eagle Crest
Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 8th. From 4-8 PM, QDOBA (Clover Basin) will donate 25% of all sales to Eagle Crest PTO! Just show this flier or use code QDOBAGIVES when ordering online! (QDOBA’s donation comes at no extra cost to you.)

And a special thanks goes to PTO for purchasing books from the book fair for the Reading Challenge Reading prizes. The kids are going to love their prizes! And I couldn't have done it without all the parents and high school students who volunteered to help make the book fair a success. Thank you all!
PICTURE RETAKE DAY - NOVEMBER 8TH
Mark your calendars! Picture Retake Day is scheduled for November 8th. If you'd like to retake your child's school pictures, here's what you need to do: Send in the pictures you received to turn them in, let your child's classroom teacher know that you want your child to participate, and make sure to inform your child so they know what to expect. We'll be completing the picture retakes in the morning, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to capture those picture-perfect smiles. Additionally, any students who were absent on the original Picture Day (September 20th) will have the chance to have their pictures taken.

While students will no longer be charged for lunch or breakfast, we encourage all families to complete the Free & Reduced Fees Application. This not only benefits your family but also supports our school in terms of funding, staffing, and reduced fees for activities. Remember to renew this application annually for access to various benefits.
Apply for free and reduced fees today to take advantage of these opportunities!
