From ATA to CTC
The Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) is the new name for what used to be known as the Automotive Technology Academy (ATA). ATA first opened its doors for the 2006-2007 school year. Prior to 2006, only four high schools offered coursework in Automotive Technology: Roosevelt, Madison, LEE, and Churchill. The NEISD School Board's vision was to create a state of the art, stand-alone automotive magnet program that would provide access to all high school campuses while efficiently utilizing district funds, promoting interest in the automotive field, and challenging students to become lifelong learners. Today CTEC has expanded and now also includes programs in Diesel Technology, Construction/Carpentry, Electrical Systems, HVAC, Plumbing, Welding, Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nurse Aide, Dental Assistant, Medical Assistant, and Pharmacy Technician while maintaining the tradition of excellence created by ATA for more than a decade. To learn more about these programs, please Explore CTEC below.
