Nipmuc Showcase
Last Tuesday evening we opened our doors to our district's eighth-grade students and their families. It was a wonderful evening watching Nipmuc students share their advice, stories, excitement and pride in their high school experiences with our incoming freshmen. Having the opportunity to host this annual event in person was wonderful. Listening to the laughter, getting to meet new members of the school, and seeing the curiosity and exploration in person made for an appreciation of all that we have missed. Thank you to our faculty and student volunteers who made the evening a success!
Inspired Learning Day Is Only 3 Days Away!
We are getting ready to "blast off" this week! Inspired Learning Days are full-day learning in which we reimagine the school experience and focus on bringing our vision to life. After two years of disruptions to their school experience, we are thrilled to be able to bring back a highlight event for our students!
The countdown is on until our next ILD this week on March 17!!! On Wednesday, March 9, students signed up for their sessions during advisory. Permission slips were sent home on Wednesday as well for any students leaving Nipmuc to attend an off-site session and were due on Thursday, March 10. If you haven't turned in a permission slip you must do so by tomorrow (Tuesday, March 15). Students will not be allowed to leave school without having turned in a signed permission slip.

Spring Cleaning In The Next Few Days?
Are you looking to get some early spring cleaning done in the next couple of days and have some "junk" that you need to get rid of? We are offering an Inspired Learning Day session called "Create a Chain Reaction!" We will be designing a Rube Goldberg machine. (Don't know what a Rube Goldberg machine is? Check out this video for an intricate example!)
We are looking for any random items that you are willing to part ways with-- it could be things that have been taking up space in your home that you no longer need.
We are looking for items such as:
aluminum foil
cardboard boxes/tubes
string/yarn
marbles/golf balls
buckets
cups/bowls
...however, we are not picky and will take anything you're willing to give!
If there is something that you may be able to donate to our cause, please feel free to drop it off at the main office (in care of: Ms. Plante) or send it with your child to school and have them bring it to room G315. We will take all donations up through Wednesday, March 16.
Thanks very much for your support!
Sincerely,
Ms. Plante

A huge congratulations our jazz ensemble musicians for earning a gold medal at the recent MAJE competition. Nipmuc’s ensemble was one of only two teams in division 2 to earn a gold medal. They will make their way to the state tournament on March 26 with hopes of earning the chance to perform at the Hatch Shell in Boston.
