Hubbard Guardians,

I was given some constructive feedback at New Student Orientation regarding my newsletter and was told to include some bullet points regarding different items leading into Monday. Most, if not all, of your general questions can be answered by looking at the Hubbard Guardian Handbook. Here are those bullets:

Supply List - The Hubbard Supply List has been uploaded to the school website as well. We tried to keep it simple! FYI, although your kids may LOVE pencils with awesome designs on them, pencil sharpeners do not!

PTA - Please consider joining our awesome Hubbard PTA and getting involved! Our awesome president is Kelly Youngblood and she has already been planning with me for the upcoming year. They also have a PTA Facebook page you should follow to stay up to date and involved! Here is how you join:

Immunizations - Parents who received a reminder letter/email from the nurse regarding immunizations, please make an effort to provide the Hubbard Clinic proof of record through fax at 903- 262-1566, through email to Eleanor.Olivares@tylerisd.org, or deliver directly to the campus. This will help prevent delays in the start of the school year.

Wednesday, August 16th - First day of school! Tardy bell is 8:15a.m.!

August 21st - Sept 1st

Students will take a math and reading diagnostic test under the new "I-Ready" program. This will help us with knowing their learning strengths and weaknesses.

August 26th - Cross Country competition at Tyler Legacy

We have had some great PD and opportunities for our staff this week. Lots of learning and lots of food! Thank you to PTA for providing Newk's for the entire teaching staff!

If you haven't seen the teacher shopping spree video yet, then go check out the Hubbard facebook page and watch it! Mrs. Dehler did an awesome job creating it!

Check out my man who came and got his schedule on his go-kart! Where there is a will, there's a way! If you didn't get your child's schedule, please feel free to swing by campus and pick it up Monday or Tuesday.

Cross Country practice/ Tryouts begin the 22nd - 24th of August at 6:30am. at Husky Lane behind the school (listen for the music). All athletes must be eligible to participate in Practices/ Tryouts. That includes having completed ALL Rank one forms.

The student must have a parent-signed medical history form AND a completed and Physician-signed Physical

All Practice and Meet schedules will be available on Rankonesport.com, the Hubbard website, and Coach Adams will send it out over SportsYou. You will need to download SportsYou from the app store. Next join the appropriate team with the code below.

There will be an Athletics meeting once school has started back for parents to ask questions.

NO athletes will be permitted to participate until ALL eligibility requirements have been satisfied.
