Monday, April 13th
Reading
*You can use books at your house, EPIC, or on Raz-Kids
Read a book.
*Write down 2 characters from the story, and say 1 way that they are different.
Writing
*Please write at least 3 sentences!
Prompt:
Write about things that your family likes to do together.
Phonics & Sight Words
Watch this video about silent E at the end of a word.
Write down 5 words you see in the video.
Math
*Will need a deck of cards
(remove the 10’s, aces, and face cards)
Place Value:
Using 2 cards, create a 2-digit number. (Ex: 8 and 2 is 82)
Tell how many tens and ones. Repeat 5 times.
82 has 8 tens and 2 ones.
Science
Light and Shadows
Walk around your house. Write down or draw all the light sources you find. How many lights are in your house?
Tuesday, April 14th
Reading
Read a NON-FICTION book.
*Write down 3 facts you heard or read that you didn’t know before.
Writing
Prompt: What is your favorite day of the week? Why do you like that day?
Phonics & Sight Words
Choose 5 sight words from the list you are practicing. Write a sentence with each of your sight words.
Math
Place Value:
Using 2 cards, create a 2-digit number.
Write an addition sentence to show the value of each digit.
Repeat 5 times.
35 = 30 + 5
Science
Choose one of the lights you found yesterday in your house. Write down what it is used for, and how it helps your family.
Wednesday, April 15th
Math
Place Value:
Using 2 cards, create a 2-digit number. Draw how many tens and ones the number has.
Reading
Read a book.
*Have a parent or sibling pick 1 word from that book. (ex: drive). Write down 6 words that rhyme with the word they chose.
Writing
Prompt: If you could eat at any restaurant, where would you choose? Why?
Phonics & Sight Words
Watch this video about silent E.
Write down 5 words you see in the video.
Science
Go outside and look for the sun. Can you see it today? Draw what it looks like. Write down 2 ways that the sun helps us.
Thursday, April 16th
Reading
Read a NON-FICTION book.
*Choose a subject, and draw a page for your own non-fiction book. Look at the example for help.
Writing
Prompt: Write down 5 facts that you know about the sun and the moon.
Phonics & Sight Words
Set a timer for 1 minute. Write as many sight words as you can before the time runs out. Do it 1 more time, and see if you can write more words the second time!
Math
Place Value:
Using 2 cards, create a 2-digit number. (Ex: 6 and 3 is 63)
Tell how many tens and ones. Repeat 5 times.
63 has 6 tens and 3 ones.
Science
Watch this video about light and shadows.
Friday, April 17th
Reading

Hooway for Wodney Wat, by Helen Lester. Answer the questions after.
Read Aloud Questions (Friday, April 17th)
1. Why was Wodney the shyest rodent in his school?
2. Name two ways Wodney and Camilla are different.
3. Why were the rodents so happy during the game of Simon Says?
4. Wodney was his classmates’ hero by the end of the story… Why?
Writing
Prompt: Do you like sharks or dolphins more? Why did you pick that animal?
Phonics & Sight Words
Read the Magic E poem. How many silent E words did you find? Can you look in a book and find 3 more words with silent E at the end?

Place Value:
Using 2 cards, create a 2-digit number.
Write an addition sentence to show the value of each digit.
Repeat 5 times.

Science
Go outside and take a short walk (if it is sunny). Write down all the shadows that you see.
