Family Newsletter
Eagle Rock Families,
Dear Eagle Rock Elementary Community,
I would like to welcome you to another school year at Eagle Rock Elementary! It is truly an honor to serve as the principal at Eagle Rock. For new families to our building, I come to you with 16 years of experience as an educator. I come from a family of educators so I have been around this profession all of my life. I spent 7 years teaching students with disabilities and managing an alternative education program. Most recently I have served as a Middle School and High School Principal for the Colton School. This is my second year serving as the principal at Eagle Rock Elementary.
We have some new staff this year who have come to us with a wide variety of experience working with children and families. They are all excited to serve and educate your children. Our maintenance and custodial staff worked hard over the summer to clean and prepare our building for students to return.
Eagle Rock Staff are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:
1) Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience
2) Completes all homework assignments given by teachers
3) Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
4) Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
5) Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject
6) Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and go on to college or career
I believe wholeheartedly that every student deserves a quality education and that only happens when the school and the families work together for the best interests of our children. With that in mind, I will be calling on all of our faculty, staff, and parents to work as a singular unit so we can best serve our children.
I am truly honored to be given this opportunity and look forward to immersing myself completely in our school and community. I believe my main responsibility is to put our teachers in the best possible position to succeed, as they will in turn put our children in the best possible position to succeed. I look forward to meeting all of you and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.
Best Regards,
Grant Hayball
Principal
