We are getting ramped up to start our advisee groups; building community within our school and across grades! Super fun start with a "Would you rather?" game to get to know each other. Join us Monday mornings to see what's going on in the school!ABC's of Success!!
We are developing goals for students focused around the ABC's of Success! Act Responsible, Be Respectful, Choose Positive Behaviors, Strive for Excellence! Staff, parents, AND students can nominate students that exhibit these behaviors. Those with multiple recognitions at the end of the school year, will be honored at our Black and Gold Awards in the Spring! Nominate students using this Google form or print off this ticket and bring it to the school
Movie Night!!
Double Feature planned for February 24th with help from the Thorne Bay Library! One movie in the gym for younger students at the same time one in the commons for the middle school and high school students. Concession stands will be open with an intermission. Movies and times yet to be determined. More info to come!

What's happening in our Classes!
PreK Classroom
PreK is focusing on Math this month and they are starting on the concept of adding and subtracting already! Their literacy celebration was about Cat and the Hat party for reading 45 books and
Mr. J's K and 1st Grade (and 2 in the afternoons).
Mr. Jenson’s class are making visits to the Thorne Bay library. Buddy reading with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade class, and our resident artist helping with art projects.
Mr. Near's 2nd/3rd Grade Math/ELA
Mr. Near's class has been working on multiplication and fractions in math class using Both IXL and IReady computer programs, but most work is done on paper, off the board and from the math books. Occasionally we use manipulatives to better explain the concepts or as a break to have fun. In creative writing, we do a little lesson about something and then they are given a prompt to write using perspective. The last prompt was about beavers. "One day me and my beaver husband Harold and I found a little stream, so we moved there and I found some trees and I started chopping them down (now I already aced all my tests in beaver school so I had nothing to worry) “nom nom nom yummy” I said..."
