Principal's Corner
Titan Families,
It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of Tahquitz High School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of P.R.I.D.E.! This is my 14th year serving in Hemet Unified School District where I have been a teacher and Assistant Principal. I was an Activities Director at Tahquitz for five years, so I am incredibly happy to be home with my Titan Family!
I know this school year hasn't started the way we would have liked, but please know I am dedicated to providing our students with a quality education and as much normalcy as the circumstances allow. Our students have worked hard since August to navigate virtual learning, and their effort has not gone unnoticed. Learning in this virtual environment is new to us all, so my focus continues to center around the safety of our students, staff, and families. We have taken many measures to keep everyone safe while still maintaining a strong focus on the learning and achievement of our students.
I look forward to learning and growing with you. We are going through this together, and I am committed to assisting you through the bumps in the process that will occur, as well as, celebrating the victories in the learning ahead of us!
Sincerely,
Kari McGowan, Principal

Attention Senior Families!!!
Tahquitz Counseling Department / BARR Program
The end of the semester is January 6th. If your student/s has an F in ANY class, please have them communicate with their teacher on what they can work on over Thanksgiving break to help improve their grade.
Please make sure they are logging on to both their synchronous and asynchronous classes every day. Synchronous is for all current assignments, and asynchronous is for all missing assignments or assignments that they need help with.
If they are invited to an "Intervention" class in the am from 8:35-9:05, please make sure they attend that as well.
Remind them to check their emails for emails from their Counselors or MFT as they are working hard trying to send them important emails. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving break.
