- Our students are doing a great job utilizing their agendas this year. Students are given time at the beginning of each class and expected to copy down assignments into their agenda. Students should also be highlighting any homework. We are trying really hard to teach our sixth graders the importance of organization.
- Collecting boxtops? Send them to school with your child to give to their homeroom teacher!
ELA Updates
This week in ELA, we will be introducing a new novel--Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper. This novel will be read completely in class. If a student misses a day during the novel study, they will need to get with their ELA teacher to work on reading any chapters they missed. We will use the novel to begin exploring character development as well as internal and external conflict.
Math Updates
Math classes will begin Unit 2 this week by exploring the concepts of reading, writing, and interpreting large numbers.
Science Updates
Science will be working on states of matter and phase changes in states of matter for the next several weeks.
