Conferences February 27 and 28 - No School for Students
Just a reminder there is NO SCHOOL Thursday and Friday, February 27 & 28 due to Spring Conferences. School resumes on Monday, March 2nd.

Kindergarten Registration Information 2020-2021 School Year

Do you know a child that will turn 5 prior to Sept 1, 2020? You can register your incoming Kindergarten student on April 7th any time between 3:30 – 6:00pm. Please plan to bring your student’s birth certificate & immunization report.

Classified Employees Week

In Oregon March 2- 6 has been designated Classified Employees Week. While we celebrate teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week, Classified Employees Week is celebrated to acknowledge and celebrate the work of our school support employees. These include our educational assistants, speech assistants, school librarians, custodians, crossing guards, kitchen staff, our school office staff, and other support employees who work to support our students, staff, and buildings. Please join me in thanking our Classified Employees for their hard work and dedication.

We utilize a system called Blackboard to facilitate phone calls, emails, and text messages to our families. It is important that we have your current contact information on file. If you find that your address, phone number, or email have changed, please be sure to contact the school office at 503-544-4450

When your child is going to be absent please call the school to let us know. You can call our attendance line at 503-554-4496 to leave a message.

Our Mabel Rush Battle of the Books final round was held on Friday, February 21, 2020. Congratulations to all of our teams that took part and congratulations to our building champions, The Titanium Book Crusaders. A big thank you to our parent volunteers and staff for supporting the Battle of the Books.

News from the Library...

Read Across America Week - March 2-6

We're going to be celebrating "Read Across America Day (March 2)" all week, because who doesn't want to celebrate reading as much as possible? We will be filling our library display case with a selection of books that are set in different states in the USA, and will be encouraging kids to dress up in the spirit of several great Children's books. Here's what we have planned.

Read Across America Spirit Week

Monday, March 2 - Fox in Socks (Dr. Seuss) - Wear wacky or mismatched socks
Tuesday, March 3 - Harold and the Purple Crayon (Crockett Johnson) - Dress like a crayon - Head to toe in the same color
Wednesday, March 4 - The Giving Tree (Shel Silverstein) - Write a note of kindness and give it to someone
Thursday, March 5 - Miss Nelson is Missing (Harry Allard) - Dress like your favorite character from a book
Friday, March 6th - The Rainbow Fish (Marcus Pfister) - Dress like a rainbow
