FCPS to update Health Metrics Dashboard twice per week
Frederick County Public Schools will begin updating its health metrics dashboard twice per week in order to provide families with more recent data on the prevalence of COVID-19 in the community.
The dashboard will now be updated by noon on Mondays and Wednesdays. The first Wednesday update will be September 8.
In February, FCPS introduced the health metrics dashboard to give the community an opportunity to track COVID-19 cases that are reported to FCPS. Those cases are broken down by school buildings.
The health metrics dashboard also includes:
- Frederick County metrics compiled by the Frederick County Health Department, including COVID-19 test positivity rates.
- Maryland school outbreaks, compiled by the Maryland Department of Health
Student COVID-19 Screening
If you are participating in any in-person instruction or extracurricular activity at one of our FCPS buildings, please review the COVID-19 screening message below.
FCPS is asking for your help keeping all our schools and communities safe. Please review the list of COVID-19 symptoms below with your student prior to leaving for school every day. You will be provided a weekly communication reminder of this requirement. Students who are ill or are experiencing symptoms are expected to remain at home.
Parents/Guardians are affirming and attesting to the following for their student:
- Your student has not tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 10 days, or in the last 10 days had any close and prolonged contact (*within 6 feet for 15 minutes or greater) with anyone who is either a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19, AND
Your student is not currently experiencing or displaying, and your student has not in the last 10 days experienced any ONE of the following COVID-19 symptoms:
- Fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit (38 Celsius) or higher
- Sore throat
- Cough
- Difficulty breathing
- Diarrhea or vomiting
- New onset of severe headache
- New loss of taste or smell
If the answer is YES to any of the above statements, your student should not come to school. Please contact your healthcare provider with any questions regarding next steps for your student.
Thank you for your cooperation.
