Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
November 3, 2023
Andrea Conner, BHS Principal
Hello Bulldog Families.
Our first week of the second quarter has been a chilly one! Students are finding that it’s time to pull out the warmer sweaters and the hoodies! We are working to balance the heating throughout the building, so I’ve been telling students to make sure they are dressing in layers.
This week was Hope Week with our students and staff participating in themed activities every day. We have enjoyed watching what everyone is wearing each day but the highlight was Tuesday’s Costume Day. Check out the picture below that shows everyone dressed in their costumes! I don’t think kids are ever too old to enjoy a little dress up fun!
One of our science teachers, Mr. Dooley, went all out in his classroom on Tuesday. In addition to decorating, he blew up (in a controlled environment) the jack-o'- lanterns that his students carved on Monday. It was very fun to watch high school students enjoying the festivities.
Take some time to check out the important dates noted in this newsletter, and have a great weekend.
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello Bulldog Families.
Please take a moment to review the tardy policy in the student handbook. Tardies have been an issue throughout the year. Once students receive their 4th tardy in a semester, the following consequences occur. Students who drive also run the risk of having their parking passes revoked.
TARDY TO SCHOOL
4th = After School Detention
5th = After School Detention
6th = Friday School
7th = Friday School
8th = Saturday School
9th = Saturday School
Any further tardies for semester = After School Detention the following day.
The cold weather is approaching. I have pulled the following from the handbook regarding our school dress code:
COLD WEATHER GEAR
- Coats are not to be worn during regular school hours and are to be kept in student lockers
- Sweaters, sweatshirts, vests and pullovers are permitted, but must follow all guidelines specified in the “Upper Garments” and “General Guidelines” sections on previous pages.
- No blankets
Have a nice weekend.
