Guidance Update
Grades 9-12 - Jobs
Summer positions are still open, especially at local YMCAs, for lifeguards, camp counselors, and youth instructors in Art and Sports. Check out the School-to-Career Student Job Board or email Ms Marshall at kmarshall@attleboroschools.com for more information.
Grades 10-11 - SAT/ACT Testing
There are only about two more test administrations each this spring for the SAT/ACT exams: in May and June for SATs, and June and July for ACT. College-thinking Juniors: it is very common and highly recommended for 11th graders to take the SAT exam once in the spring, and then once again in the fall of senior year. Click HERE for SAT test dates and registration. Click HERE for ACT test dates and HERE for registration. SAT test fee waivers may be available to some students who qualify. Please email Ms Nellie if interested.
Juniors
Once again, AVA Guidance will begin conducting Junior Interviews during Trimester 3 with the Class of 2024 about where they stand in graduation progress, GPA, and future planning. To help juniors and families prepare, consult this junior-senior timeline sheet and the junior interview form.
Seniors
The April 1st deadline is almost here! Please peruse the Googledrive folder with Attleboro High School community scholarships. Most ask for things like 1) a resume, 2) letters of recommendation, and 3) a short essay. Start prepping these now if you have not, and don't be afraid to ask for help!
Like most weeks, be on the lookout in your Attleboro student email for the AHS Guidance Dept. senior weekly update that will be emailed separately over the weekend.
As always, please email me at nng@attleboroschools.com with any comments, suggestions, and concerns, or to make a virtual meeting appointment. Have a pleasant weekend!
