Student Progress and Monitoring
Keep Up with Your Student's Academic Progress By Connecting to Your Student's Canvas Account
It is important to connect to your student's learning, ensure assignments are being completed, and help monitor your student's grades. As a parent/guardian, you can link to your student’s Canvas account via desktop web browser or the Canvas Parent app available on both iOs and Android devices to track your student’s homework and grades. Create your parent/guardian account using the following steps:
- Visit www.isdschools.org/canvas/
- Click “Login for Parents” followed by “Click Here for an Account” to create your free Canvas parent account. Enter your name and email address, create a password and enter your student's pairing code.
Your student will generate his/her pairing code this Friday, August 25th and recorded this code in their student agenda in the Math section on August 25th's date.
Once you enter this code, click “Start Participating” to create your Canvas parent account. - Please note that a pairing code is valid for up to 7 days. To generate a new pairing code, students should log into their Canvas student account, select “Account”, click “Settings” followed by “Pair with an Observer to generate a code.
You can find step-by-step instructions for pairing with multiple students accounts using the iOs app here.

Days of No School to Schedule Appointments
Days with No School to Schedule Appointments
One of the most important ways a family can support their student's growth and learning is to make sure they are in attendance each day at school. There is absolutely no substitute for the quality of learning that takes place in a classroom led by an expert teacher with peers to collaborate with and share in the learning. There are many unpredictable events in life that can result in missing school, from simple sickness to family emergencies. It is important for our students' learning to make sure that for those events that are within our control, we are planning in ways that keep their attendance high and without interruption.
As a way to partner with families and help them with careful planning, here are the days that students are out of session for the 2023-2024 school year:
September: 18, 25
October: 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
November: 7, 13, 27
December: 4, 1, 18, 25-29
January: 1, 2, 3, 15, 22, 29
February: 5, 12, 19, 26
March: 4, 11*, 18, 29
April: 1, 8*, 15, 22, 29*
May: 6, 13, 23*, 24*
*Potential make-up days for inclement weather
