I hope you are having a wonderful week! Fortunately the air is a bit better today, but we are still monitoring the numbers and will continue to provide indoor options for students as needed. P.E. will also be inside when necessary.
We have missed our 6th graders this week! They are at Walden West Outdoor School and are having a wonderful time. I was lucky enough to go visit them on Wednesday and even got to catch bugs in the compost with them. I can't wait to hear more stories about their adventures.
Attendance Matters
As we are now a few weeks into school, I have noticed a pattern of many students walking onto campus after 8:30. While I know that snafus occasionally come up, we do expect every student to arrive on time. Not only does it help our students understand that timeliness matters in school and beyond, it also allows them to settle in with their class and be more prepared for the day. I know we can do better!
LAEF
The Los Altos Education Foundation raises a significant amount of money each year to support every child in our school district in so many ways! Because of these efforts, your children have librarians, art docents, computer science classes, PE teachers, and STEM programs that contribute to the rich learning experience LASD provides.
If you are able, now is the time to help! You can donate or pledge using this link. If you do so by September 23rd, you will not receive a call or a text during the fundraising event on September 26th.
You can also join us by volunteering at the event on the 26th using this link. We would love to see you there!

Hot off the press!

THANK YOU to all the families who’ve already contributed to LAEF this school year. We appreciate your support early in the school year!
LAEF’s annual Fall Fundraising Night of texting and calling is coming up soon. If you have not yet given to LAEF for this school year, please Donate or Pledge today, and we’ll take you off our list. If your gift is already in process via your employer, DAF, or stock, let us know, and we'll make a note.
Can you join us and help send texts or make calls on September 26th at our Fall Fundraising Night? Learn more and sign up today. We need many volunteers to join our school principals as they reach out and encourage parents to donate to LAEF.
Donating to LAEF is the only way for parents to fund LASD teaching staff in our district and help fill the gap in school funding from federal, state, and local sources. Find out exactly how your donation will be spent this school year.
Learn more about the complementary roles that LAEF and the PTA fill in providing an excellent education for our students and consider supporting both organizations.
