PBIS MONTHLY UPDATES
Canterbury Elementary School
Dear Families,
This month, Canterbury's social-emotional learning program is focusing on creativity! Below are a few conversation starters you can use at home to spark meaningful dialogue with your child:
-
What does creativity mean to you?
-
Can you share an example of a time when you were creative?
-
How can being creative help you solve problems?
We encourage you to explore these questions together and celebrate the many ways your child expresses their creativity every day!
Warmly,
Dr. Wigton
TAT A TEACHER
Want to see your favorite Canterbury teacher rocking a tiger tattoo sleeve? Now’s your chance! Buy a temporary tattoo and choose which participating teacher or staff member wears it at the School BBQ on May 23rd! Tattoos are priced from $1 for small tattoos to $5 for a full sleeve. All proceeds go toward year-end fun for Canterbury students — so you’re giving back and getting some laughs! Purchase here!

Rent a table or bring your own — and keep 100% of your profits! You focus on selling, we'll do all the advertising! Register here.
Attendance Winners
Currently, our attendance rate is 93.6%, with a goal to reach 95%. Canterbury's chronic absenteeism rate—students missing more than 10% of school—has decreased to around 13%, compared to 16% last year. Please continue to send your child to school each day as we still have many fun and meaningful learning activities planned to wrap up the school year! We want every student to enjoy these final weeks and finish strong.
The following homerooms had the best attendance in the month of April/May: Congrats to the following homerooms:

Lake Erie Summer Camps
Lake Erie Ink has an amazing lineup of Summer Camps, and CHUH Students are only $25 to enroll! Our Canterbury families loved their Spring Break camps so they asked us to share summer opportunities as well. Check them out and register here!
The District has adopted a plan for communications with persons with disabilities, which is available here. The plan establishes procedures to ensure that the District's communications with persons with disabilities, including applicants, participants, members of the public, and companions with disabilities, are as effective as its communications with others.
