Hatherly Happenings

Today we had our monthly PBIS assembly. During the meeting we took some time to celebrate hard workers here at the Hatherly School. We also revisited October's theme of inclusion and introduced November's theme of being trustworthy. Below are some students who made us smile because of their accomplishments!

This week's story was The Golden Rule. This cute story spreads the message of kindness. It is the story of a grandfather teaching his grandson different ways the golden rule is used by people of different cultures, and why it is so valuable.

Jess Hurley Scott, SSAC's Artist-in-Residence, visited our 4th graders on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Students learned about marine science, and created their own multi-layered painted seashores!

On Thursday our 4th and 5th graders did a wonderful performing in their fall choral and band concerts. The band had a Halloween theme so they played the theme from "Jaws", Scary Hot Cross Buns, and the Addams Family. This was their very first concert because they started their instruments last year via Zoom. The students worked hard to prepare this concert and they all did an amazing job. Mrs. Hughes was also very excited to perform live music again with the 4th and 5th graders. They performed A Witch Doctor Warm Up, Ghost of John as a Round , Sevens with In the Hall of the Mountain King, and Things that Go Bump in the Night. They had so much fun even though it was a bit chilly outside!

We’re only 5 days away from our Hatherly Fun Run and our students and staff are so excited! We’re looking forward to having fun and building community together.
