Bobcat Broadcast
March 24, 2023
A Message from Mrs. Caudill
I read this article in the Science of Creativity and when whoa... this is so many of our kids. The need to be prefect, the anxiety over not being the best. I love how they talk about exellencism. This is attainable, this is what we should want our kids to strive towards.
- Perfectionism is the relentless pursuit of extremely high and strict standards of perfection – and evaluating oneself by those standards.
- Excellencism is striving toward high yet attainable standards in an effortful and flexible manner – and being satisfied once they’re reached.
Please take the time to read the article below. Such a good reminder for us as parents and to remind our kiddos as well.
Stay well,
Devon Caudill

Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate
As a reminder we want you to Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate over this break! We believe school breaks should be just that - a brief reprieve from school responsibilities like homework, special projects, planning, and grading. It is a time to reconnect with loved ones without the stress of school work creeping in. We will be leading by example and there will be no Bobcat Broadcast next week due to Spring Break. Please look for a new Broadcast on Thursday, April 6. We hope each of you have a relaxing break full of family, fun and togetherness.

Welcome Lexie!
We are excited to welcome another therapy dog to Amerman in addition to Bailey. Lexie is a Therapy Dog at Galvin Growth Group, which is a local psychology practice located in Novi. She is very excited to become one of the therapy dogs at Amerman! Lexie is a Certified Therapy Dog and has also earned her AKC Good Citizen credential as well as the advanced AKC credential of Community Canine.
She is a Mini Bernedoodle and was born in the Spring of 2021. She is a 24 pound ball of happiness. Lexie provides Animal Assisted Therapy to children and adults at Dr Galvin's psychology practice. She can also be seen around the community as she practices all of her wonderful skills in real life. If you see her at Amerman please say “hello” to her as she loves meeting people and she is very happy and friendly.
When not at Amerman or at Galvin Growth Group, Lexie loves spending her time with Dr Galvin’s family, including her human brother, Riley Powers, who is in grade 3 at Amerman and they enjoy traveling, belly rubs, playing with a soccer ball, and chasing an occasional ice cube tossed on the floor like a little hockey puck.

First Grade Music Informances
Ms. Farmer outdid herself! What a fun night showing our families what they learn in music class. At our first grade informances the Mrs. Warum's, Clark's and Charboneau's students showed how they can, copy, sing and write rhythm patterns. They did all this while singing, dancing, and playing instruments.

April Focus - Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw!
What this means: Balance is Best. Seek continuous improvement and renewal professionally and personally.
Sharpen the Saw means preserving and enhancing the greatest asset you have–you. It means having a balanced program for self-renewal in the four areas of your life: physical, social/emotional, mental, and spiritual. Here are some examples of activities:
Physical: Beneficial eating, exercising, and resting
Social/Emotional: Making social and meaningful connections with others
Mental: Learning, reading, writing, and teaching
Spiritual: Spending time in nature, expanding spiritual self through meditation, music, art, or service
What I can do:
- I take care of my body by eating right, exercising, and getting enough sleep
- I balance my time between school, extracurricular activity, family, and friends
- I an always learning how to become a better person
.
