Curriculum Close-Up
Leadership Executive Directors and Campus Leaders are invited to attend the second Curriculum Close-Up. The professional learning sessions will provide in-depth information and previews regarding upcoming curriculum and instruction. Each session is 50-minutes.
Attend as many or as few as you need; 1 SBEC credit hour per session awarded. Please sign in for each session you attend so proper credit may be awarded.

Mandatory Training: T-TESS for New Hires
Participants will learn about the new Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS). Teachers will have a clear understanding about the new system, the implications for teacher evaluations, and how it will support all in learning and growing as a school community, to ultimately impact our students’ performance.

Lucy Calkins 8th Grade Writing Units of Study Getting Ready for Eng. I
Eighth Grade Teachers will learn how the Lucy Calkins Writing Units of Study Kit for 8th grade can assist in preparing students for the rigor in English I. Teachers will glean strategies to use in the classroom to meet district curricular requirements. ***Each participant will need an 8th Grade Lucy Calkins Writing Units of Study Kit.*** Location McClung MS Library
Achieve3000 Sessions
Engaged Literacy Strategies & Achieve 3000
Secondary Achieve 3000 teachers will understand how the Achieve 3000 Five Step Literacy Routine aligns with FWISD Engaged Literacy Strategies. Observe a modeling session on how to implement an Achieve 3000 lesson/Engaged Literacy Strategies. Collaborate and share best practices with colleagues.

Achieve 3000 Reflecting and Preparing for Success Next Year
Secondary Achieve 3000 Teachers will be able to review data from this year's implementation using Achieve 3000 reports and map out action plans for the upcoming year. Identify key benefits and features in the product and develop plans to deepen instructional practices and accelerate student learning. Collaborate and share best practices with colleagues.

This English as a Second Language (ESL) certification preparation course is for ESL teachers who are currently on permit or teachers who desire to become ESL certified in 2018-2019. According to TEC§29.061 instruction in the program must be delivered by a teacher appropriately certified in bilingual education or ESL.

Mathematics
8th Grade SSI - Round 1
This training will provide an overview of SSI Round 1 materials. An overview of the curriculum, calendar and resources will be presented by the middle school mathematics curriculum coordinator. Resources will be provided at the end of the season.
