As we continue to grow at CCR&R, there are many opportunities. Currently we are recruiting for an Infant/Toddler Specialist and a Bilingual, Spanish literate Quality Improvement Specialist. We will also be adding two more positions this Spring, a Preschool Promise Quality Improvement Specialist and a Child Care and Community Navigator. Watch the link above for those two positions to open soon. CCR&R is a challenging and rewarding organization to work with. We are in supportive roles to child care providers in many ways. From technical assistance to training, we engage with the community and child care providers at many levels. If this interests you, please apply or call me for more information.

There are changes coming to the Pediatric/Adult 1st Aid & CPR requirement. If you have a valid 1st aid/CPR card that was obtained during the pandemic (and up until June 30th, 2022) through self-study or virtual training, your certification will remain in effect until the expiration date on the card. This temporary rule is changing July 1st, 2022. Certification obtained on or after 7/1/22 must contain a hands on component of CPR. Clackamas CCR&R will begin offering in-person CPR in July, 2022.

Building Relationships & Creating Supportive Environments & Social Emotional Teaching Strategies (72154)

The Pyramid Model is a tiered (promotion, prevention, intervention) public health framework into which care-givers, professionals, and systems can assess, align and implement evidenced based strategies and practices that support children socially and emotionally.

Supporting Social Emotional Development (72250)

ORO credits: 18 hours (must attend all sessions for credit)

Social-emotional development is the foundation for all areas of childhood development and learning. The Overview will establish your role, examine the curriculum, and explore learning environments for your participants. The six modules in this Area will explore building warm positive relationships, responsive caregiving, supporting social-emotional expression and regulation, promoting socialization, guiding behavior and promoting infant and toddler sense of identity and belonging through theoretical and practical application of the concepts presented.

Pre-registration is required. Scholarships are available!

There are two paths to becoming a child care provider: becoming a Licensed Child Care Provider or become a Listed Child Care Provider with DHS. Read below to learn the benefits of each type of provider and what trainings each type of provider needs to complete.

As a licensed Child Care Provider, you can care for up to 10 children at one time. To become a licensed provider through Office of Child Care (OCC), you will need to attend a free, two part Introduction to Registered Family Child Care. Part 1 can be found online at

Educadium. See dates below for Part 2. You will also need to complete required Health and Safety Schedule listed below before applying (we offer two kinds of CPR, but you only need to take one).

Being “listed” through Department of Human Services (DHS) means that you are approved to receive subsidy payment for child care from approved families. To become listed through DHS, you will need to attend a free, two part ODHS Child Care Provider Orientation. Part 1 can be found online at Educadium. See dates below for Part 2. Providers must be active and have received a letter telling them they need to take the ODHS Child Care Provider Orientation, which we offer once per month.

• Set One training presents introductory knowledge. The purpose of these sessions is to provide an overview of basic principles, theories, and/or research. Participants are expected to gain basic, introductory knowledge of session topics.
• Set Two training presents intermediate knowledge. The purpose of these sessions is to build on previous knowledge by having professionals use what they have already learned and experienced to think in depth and to learn more. Session are developed assuming that participants already have basic knowledge of the subject in order to participate at this intermediate level of complexity.
• Set Three training presents advanced knowledge. The purpose of these sessions is to provide in-depth study of the session topic. Sessions provide opportunities for analysis, comparison, critical examination, evaluation, research, and/or practical study. Set Three participants are expected to already have significant and/or intermediate knowledge of and professional experience in the session topic.
