This Week At SHOJ
March 12, 2021
From Mrs. Rhodes
What a beautiful serve day. Our Cardinal Carnival during Catholic Schools Week raised the money to purchase all the supplies to put together over 800 packages to help Catholic Charities to bring stabilization to those in need. We are so grateful that Catholic Charities lets us partner with them to do so much good. Although the projects may not be huge as the Catholic Charities people explained to the students, they are seeing more people who have to ask for help that have never had to before and to them the little things are a big deal. We started the day with Mass and ended with Living Stations. So many beautiful ways to live our faith. Here is a link to our slide show from the day.
God bless you as you enjoy Spring Break. Please stay safe and healthy - we will see you on Monday, March 22 grades 1-8, and Kindergarten on the 23.

From Nurse Mary
No New cases nor quarantines this week!
Thanks for monitoring symptoms closely and doing all you do to keep our school healthy. Please remember with your spring break adventures, that the virus is still out there and very contagious. If you find that you have been exposed or start showing symptoms, the guidance is still in tact: isolate yourself if you have symptoms, quarantine if you have been exposed, and test if necessary. Don't hesitate to reach out to me if you need help walking through your details.
Believe it or not, it is time for planning one of Sacred Heart’s biggest fundraisers, the Brown Bottle Dinner and Auction. It will be held virtually on Saturday, April 17, 2021. The gift baskets are a huge hit every year, thanks to your generous donations. Our goal is always to make the baskets bigger and better every year. Each grade is assigned a theme. You are invited to purchase items (big or small) based on your child’s grade level/theme and send them to school.
· Kindergarten – Boys and/or girls Legos
· First – Boys and/or girls sleepover
· Second – Gift Cards
· Third – Kansas City Sports (Chiefs, Royals and Sporting KC)
· Fourth – KU and/or K-State
· Fifth – Summer fun
· Sixth – Gift Cards
· Seventh – Girls just want to have fun (We will do ALL of the shopping for this basket, we are just asking for monetary donations.)
· Eighth – All American Boy (We will do ALL of the shopping for this basket as well. We are just asking for monetary donations.)
If you do not have time to shop, we can always do the shopping for you. Please send your donations (checks made out to Sacred Heart) in an envelope with your child’s name and grade level or click on the following link.

All donations must be received by March 26, 2021, as the gift baskets will be assembled the week of March 29. The baskets will be on display the week of April 5 and the students will be able to purchase raffle tickets beginning on April 12. More information on the raffle tickets will be sent home at a later date. If you have any questions, please email Kim Dreiling at kim.dreiling@shoj.org. Thank you in advance for your generous time and donations.
