
Hard Skills
Hard skills are the abilities that you can learn by taking courses or completing vocational training, or the ones that you learn on the job. Hard skills focus on
job-specific duties and responsibilities, for example how to use computer software, equipment or tools.
Here are some examples of hard skills:
A Degree
When you complete your studies in a college or university program, you obtain a degree from that institution. A Bachelor’s degree is the first cycle of university.

An Industry-Specific Certification
An industry specific certification is third party credential that is accepted by a specific industry. These certifications are very much in demand nowadays.
Technical Skills
Technical skills include specialized knowledge and expertise in fields such as IT, engineering, or science.
Computer Skills
Computer skills include mastering computer programs and networks. HTML and other coding programs are always an advantage.
Management Skills
Management skills include experience hiring and firing employees, planning and making schedules, negotiating and budgeting.
Project Management Skills
Project management skills make sure that things get done within the planned time and budget.
Analytical Skills
Bookkeeping Skills
Bookkeeping skills include recording sales, profits and expenses, managing cashflow and making financial reports every month.
Marketing Skills
Marketing skills are essential in fields of work such as advertising, social media, and the media. Marketing skills include sales, advertising, and consumer research, as well as the digital skills required for online marketing.
Presentation Skills
Even though presentation skills are considered more soft skills, some knowledge such as using graphic design to create slideshows, is required to put together professional looking presentations.
Language Skills
Any foreign language skills you may have thanks to foreign language studies is a great advantage to include on your CV.
You usually mention them by listing the languages you can speak and/or write, and qualifying how well you master them, for example:
Excellent spoken and written French and English; basic spoken Spanish and Arabic.
Writing Skills
Writing skills are an asset in many areas, for example if your job requires you to type up reports, proposals or presentations for clients. Apart from the obvious basic vocabulary, grammar, spelling and punctuation, writing skills include writing
Letters and E-mails, business reports, press releases, and posting on social media. Your typing speed and proofreading skills are also important.
