Please be on the lookout for communication from your child's teacher about class parties on December 16th. As a reminder, students will be able to bring individually wrapped treats (teachers communicated sign-ups on November 30th). Treats must be brought by the students. No drop-offs in the office will be accepted.

Thursday, December 17th will be an early releast at 12:25pm. There is no school on Friday, December 18th.

The cafeteria will be serving chicken sandwiches instead of meatball subs on Thursday, December 17th. Remember, Thursday will be an early release at 12:25pm.

We had a short dedication ceremony for the Little Library on Friday, December 11th. Mayor Warden read a proclamation naming December 17th, 2020 Little Library Day in Bertram, Texas. The video of the dedication will be shared with students on Monday. We would like to thank Darlene Denton, the BCISD Parent Liason, the Goble Family, and all the volunteers who worked make our Little Library a reality.

The Little Library is located near the historical marker by the classic building. It holds books for readers of all ages. Books are free to take and enjoy. The community is welcome to bring books to share with others as well!

See the schedule below for dressing up. Please do not buy anything. This is a great time to encourage creativity! Your child may participate as much or as little as you would like.

Mr. Roberts will be moving to Brownsville at the end of the semester to be near his mother following the sudden loss of his father earlier in the fall.

Ms. Kristi O'Brien has been hired to be the Bertram Elementary Fine Arts Teacher. Ms. O'Brien is a graduate of Texas Lutheran University with a degree in Music Education. She has relocated to Burnet to be near family. She is excited to continue building on the music and art foundation that Mr. Roberts has established with our students. Ms. O'Brien is passionate about using music to help students make connections to the learning happening in their grade-level classrooms. Ms. O'Brien will begin with students on January, 6th, 2021.

Please remember that student promotion to the next grade requires that each student attend school for at least 90% of the school year and pass all core classes with at least 70%. In Kindergarten and First Grades, students must receive a score of M for Mastered in at least 70% of the skills measured. We are nearing the end of the 3rd Six Weeks and 1st Semester. Please check Skyward Family Access for your child's grades and reach out to your child's teacher if they are not passing.

1. Complete AT HOME self screening before getting on the bus or coming to school.
2. Face coverings for all bus riders, and students in grades 1st-5th. Face coverings are strongly encouraged for PreK and Kinder. Remember wearing a face mask reduces your child's chance of having to quarantine for close contact.
3. Bring your backpack including water bottle, snack, and lunchbox (if bringing lunch).

1. Visits to the school are by appointment. We will attempt to address situations by phone or Google Meet. In-person appointments can be scheduled if the situation requires. When visiting campus, please be prepared to show a valid photo ID.

2. If you do visit the school, face coverings are required for all adults at all times. This includes the office foyer area.

3. Due to COVID-19, we will not have any on campus volunteers at this time.

4. We are not accepting deliveries including forgotten lunches (hot meal will be provided by the cafeteria), birthday treats, and food orders.

5. If you need to make an occasional change to your child's transportation home, please use the Bertram Transportation Change email: ber-transportation@burnetcisd.net . Transportation changes must be emailed in no later than 1:30pm. Teachers will not be able to accept transportation changes.
