Lockdown Drill
With the assistance of local law enforcement agencies, Oxford will conduct an
ALICE drill, also known as a “lockdown drill,” in our building on Tuesday, March 7th. ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate. These drills, which are required by law, allow the district to practice security plans, enhance safety, and offer increased options in the event of an emergency.
I encourage you to speak with your children about this drill and the importance of following the instructions during an actual emergency. Students should understand that drills are conducted, with and without notice, so that they can simulate an actual event and allow students and staff to practice responding in different areas of the buildings at different times of the day.
In the event of an actual emergency, the district will communicate with families through text messages, email, and/or the robocall system. Because the first priority of the district is to ensure the safety of your child, these messages will be sent as quickly as possible and after it is determined that all students are out of harm’s way. Please do not attempt to call the building during an emergency. All staff members will be assisting our students during that time and will be communicating with emergency personnel.
We thank you for your ongoing support of our emergency planning. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me.
Oxford 4th and 5th grade music performance
It's show week!!
Our 4th and 5th grade students have worked so hard over the last few weeks to put on an amazing show! Tomorrow evening, Tuesday March 7 at 6:00PM, the 4th and 5th grade students will present Australia ABCs.
Students in 4th and 5th grade will check in in the library and then go sit with their families until the program starts. At 6:00, Mrs. Schlafer will call students to the stage by class. Sitting with families until showtime will help keep our students organized and ready for showtime.
Can't wait to see you for Australia ABCs!
Save the date: Oxford 2nd and 3rd grade performs Where the Wild Things are April 25 at 6:00.
