OLMP Catholic School

As we reflect on our year at OLMP, we are filled with enormous pride in our entire staff and student body. This has been a fantastic year of learning and growth. A big thank you goes out to our parent community for all of your support this past school year. We wish our students all the best through the remainder of the exam schedule.

We will be saying good-bye to some staff members and wish them well. Ms. Chizawsky has accepted a transfer to another school next year in Ft. Saskatchewan. Ms. Woitas and Ms. Burke have accepted positions in different schools as well. Mrs. Ganske has accepted a new position at St. Pat's in her role as an Educational Assistant. Mrs. Zimmer will not be returning as a contracted Cosmetology teacher next year. We thank them for their service to OLMP!

As we wrap this year up, we continue to plan for the 2022/23 school year. We can confirm that we will begin next year with staggered entry on the first two days of school next school year:

THURS/FRI Sept. 1 & 2- Staggered start (half of each class/grade each day) Info. to follow in August.

TUES Sept. 6- First full day with all students in the building.

This will allow staff more time to connect with students, adjust schedules and options and go over any new changes to our school year. More information about this and the school year startup will be sent towards the end of August.

Report card marks and comments will be available through PowerSchool for viewing on Wednesday, June 29th by the end of the day.

We will send our last Smore of this school year on Wednesday, June 29th with any up-to-date news/reminders to share before our staff leave for Summer.

We wish you all a wonderful summer and look forward to welcoming you again in the Fall. God bless all of our families during summer break.

Can you believe it? Next year your children will be in Gr. 7 and 8. We are asking that you have your child check his/her school email to complete the option selection form for next year ASAP.

Dear Parents,

The parent notifications and PS access were turned off on June 16th for PowerSchool Updates as teachers work to complete year end report cards and comments. As a result, if you are set up to receive daily notifications, you will no longer be receiving these. Thanks in your advance for you support and understanding.

Student Placement Letter 2022-2023-As we plan for next year, our professional staff will collaborate to best meet the needs of all students next school year. Please read the following letter outlining our rationale with this process. Please see attachment below.

Dear parent/guardian:

The EICS Demographic Confirmation form for the 2022-2023 school year needs to be completed now.

Alberta Education requires that we obtain a detailed update of student demographics on an annual basis. Funding they provide for your child's education is conditional to us receiving these updates and making them part of the student's record.

We ask that you please take a moment to complete this form in PowerSchool and have the form submitted no later than Wednesday, June 29th 2022.

Here are some steps to help you access, review and submit the form online:

1. Log into PowerSchool: https://powerschool.eics.ab.ca/public/
2. Under the heading "Forms and Fees" click on "SchoolEngage Student Forms"
3. Complete the form called "A.8) 2022-2023 Demographic Validation"
4. Click Submit
