Welcome to our new CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Katie 8S
Katie recently attended the Regional Trampoline Team Qualifier in Loughborough. She performed really well in a large group of 19 entrants and achieved a bronze, narrowly missing joint gold by 0.2 points. Katie was also entered as part of a team and they gained a silver medal. Katie is now reserve for the Regional Team finals in June. Well Done Katie!
Big Bang on the Move
A group of our Year 10 students attended Big Bang on the Move which focused on opportunities available to young people in Science, Technology, Arts, Maths and Engineering. Students were also shown careers available in the logistics sector. The day was a great success and gives students ideas of career choices for their future.
Comic Con 2017
Over 50 students and staff from CTS visited the MCM Comic Con Event in Birmingham. Thousands of visitors from all over the country visit this event each year. Many dress up as their favorite comic book character and are able to take part in various games, workshops etc. Some were able to sit on the famous Game of Thrones chair!
Year 11 GCSE Countdown
It is just 51 days until the GCSE exams begin and this week our Year 11 GCSE students took part in an English Conference completing various workshops looking at all aspects of the English GCSE. Well done to all students for your hard work and commitment.

- Mrs Wagner-Lees has nominated the following students for their hard work in German, Kellie and Daniils 9C, Martyna and Megan 9T and Reece 11S.
- Miss Fenner has nominated her Year 10 English group for their great effort and attitude this week. Also nominated are Katie 7C for her great creative ideas in English and Lacy and Pacey 7C for their improved effort and great attitude in lessons.
- Mr Rogers has nominated Logan and Tinashe 9T for their progress in PE especially in Futsal.
- Mr Harley has nominated Kobe 10S for his excellent 3D design modelling in Product Design.
- Mr Lee would like to nominate Taylor 10T, Kai and Jamie 10S for their excellent commitment to involvement in Maths.
- Mr Horne has nominated Rhys 10C for his fantastic Venn Diagram work in Maths.
- Miss Longhurst would like to nominate her Year 11 History students for their hard work and focus this week.
- Mr Cox has nominated his Year 9 Science group for their excellent skills during the DNA extraction practical.
- Mr Rogers has nominated Ewan 8S and Ryan 8C for a great STEM project.
Celebration of Student Work
Lego Robotics Competition
A group of Year 8 girls took part in the Lego Robotics competition In Coventry and won the prize for best presentation. Pictured are the students who took part.
Physics Workshop - "Ever Wondered Why?"
Our Year 8 students took part in an interactive Physics workshop this week. During the event the students experienced a variety of exciting physics related experiments.
Rotary Challenge
Groups of students from Year 8 and 10 took part in the recent Nene Valley Rotary Challenge where they competed against 40 teams from around the region. They had to design and make a remote controlled vehicle that cleared drains. Sadly, we did not retain the trophy but all the teams performed very well.
