Winter Break

Now that we are entering the winter season please make sure that your child comes to school with all their outdoor clothing with them. If your child comes to school without boots or snow pants they will be restricted to the blacktop area only. They will be outside for recess as long as the wind chill temperature is above 0 degrees.

Please make sure that your child leaves the house with all of their belongings: winter gear, lunches, water bottles, instruments and backpack with device/homework. The office can be overwhelmed at times and the teachers appreciate not having instruction interrupted. Thank you for your help in this matter!

Student Council members are organizing a food drive. We will be collecting food Monday, December 4th through Friday, December 8th. Food will be collected for a local food pantry. Student Council members will be collecting the items each morning in the foyer. The food pantry has requested items they need the most, such as rice, tuna, pasta, mac and cheese, pancake mix, and Hamburger Helper. Our goal is to collect 528 items in all, which represents one item donated for each of the students at Corron.

Jim Wheeler’s Toys for Kids campaign distributes toys to less fortunate children. New, unwrapped toys, books, art supplies and games can be dropped off now to December 6, 2023. The collection box is located in the main lobby near the front entrance.

We want to make sure your student stays healthy and safe here at school and in the
community. It’s that time of year when we start having a lot of sniffles, coughs and colds.

School Board policy prohibits student possession or consumption of ANY medication on school grounds without a Medication Authorization Form on file.

ALL MEDICATION, including over the counter medications, vitamins and cough drops
need a doctor’s authorization/order to be administered here at school. If you and your doctor feel it's necessary for your child to have these You can find the Medication Authorization Form(s) on the district website under Health Services.

Corron Nurses

The building principal has the authority to grant up to (5) days of excused absences per year for the following absences:

- Participation in regional and/or national contests or awards

- Family vacation accompanied by parent(s)

- Special religious events

As a reminder, your child's teacher is not responsible for preparing assignments in advance of any prearranged absence. Please see the form below that should be turned in prior to this absence. It can also be found on Corron's website.
