DAA Middle School

It was a quick week for students with our Student-Led Conferences taking place the latter half of the week. Thank you very much for taking the time to discuss your child's progress with us! I hope it was a time for your child to reflect and set new goals as we move into the 2nd half of the semester. We see the relationship with our parents as a key component of our students' success, and depend on teamwork in order to help push our students to their fullest potential.

This week, half of our grade 6 students headed out to Kite Beach to participate in an activity for the Dubai Fitness Challenge (Pictured above). The kids had a great time, and we're thankful that one of our PE teachers, Mrs. Clegg, was able to take advantage of this healthy activity! The other half of the grade 6s will be attending the activity next week.

It is hard to believe, but we are coming up to Winter Break sooner than we think! We have a couple of shortened weeks ahead with Thanksgiving and National Day, so please encourage your child to double check Google Classroom and PowerSchool to ensure all assignments and assessments are completed so that they can focus on recharging come December 9!

Tickets go on sale from November 22 for only 20 AED during drop-off and pick-up in the DAA Atrium. All proceeds going to the GEMS-approved charity, Dubai Cares. Remaining tickets will also be on sale at the door before each performance. Don’t miss out on being a part of the audience for this spectacular show!

Shanaya Ailsinghani (grade 8) wowed coaches this past weekend at the annual MESAC Academic Games at the American Embassy School in Delhi. Representing the Middle School in the Junior Varsity division, her diligence, teamwork, and strength in English Language Arts made her a formidable player and we hope to see her continue in the years to come! Well done, Shanaya!

A special mention to Zahaan Hasham (grade 8), who, although could not make the games, worked tirelessly through the training and scrimmages to lead the team to outstanding success.
