Cell Phone and Smart Watch Policy
Dear Parents,
Many students are coming to school with cell phones and smart watches. Cell phones and smart watches may be brought to school, however students must follow the rules. The rules have been designed to minimize disruptions to the learning environment and ensure for the safety of all students. We will begin communicating this policy with students and thank you in advance for reviewing the guidelines below with your child.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Chadwick, Principal
Cell Phone and Smart Watch Policy
We recognize that parents provide their children with cell phones and/or smart watches for safety reasons when they travel to and from school. Therefore, we understand that students will bring their devices into the building. During school hours, to comply with policy JFCEB-AR and to ensure that communication devices do not interrupt the educational process, we ask that cell phones and smart watches be put on silent mode and stowed away.
When students need to reach a member of their family, they may use one of the phones in the main office. Students should not use personal devices to call, text, or message during the school day.
In an effort to enforce this policy we will implement the following:
If a device rings or makes noises during the school day, the student will be reminded of the policy and instructed to turn the device off.
Devices used during the school day to call, text or message will be confiscated and returned at the end of the day.
Students who repeatedly struggle to follow the policy may be assigned an alternative location to store the device while school is in session.
Crater Car Line Drop Off and Pick-Up
OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE A SAFE, EFFICIENT METHOD OF DROPPING OFF AND PICKING UP YOUR/OUR CHILDREN AT ANTONIA CRATER ELEMENTARY . . . with that in mind, please help us by keeping the following in mind:
Drop off/Pick Up in Front of the School
Enter the parking lot through exit A and proceed to the parking area or to the drop off/pick up line.
If utilizing the car line, when you have reached the front of the school and have pulled as far forward as you can, stop and let your children exit/enter your car from the curb side only.
Please do not park and leave your car in any red zones. You must stay in your car at all times. This will help keep traffic moving, prevent traffic jams and help ensure that students get to class on time. If your child needs assistance getting out of the car during morning drop off, please do not use the drop off/pick up car line- instead, park your car in the parking lot, assist your child out of the car and walk them to the appropriate location.
