PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families! 🦅✨
We have had a wonderful first week back at school! (I also know that as a parent, it felt wonderful to send kids back to school!) It was delightful to see our students’ smiling faces, and all week we have been focusing as a school on reemphasizing our RISE principles of Responsibility, Inclusivity, Safety, and Empathy. It is essential that we continue to reteach and enhance skills in these areas as the year progresses.
In addition, we are planning for a very full and vibrant spring of continued learning and growth. Each spring brings a full schedule of special events like field trips and performances. As a reminder, we ask that all adults who visit our school during the school day, as well as adults who attend field trips as chaperones complete our school specific volunteer training. (You only need to attend this training once during your child’s time at Eagle Crest!) This year alone, we have trained over 75 volunteers! Below are some upcoming training opportunities.
January 16th - In Person Volunteer Training, 9:00am
January 16th - Virtual Volunteer Training, 10:30am
January 17th - Virtual Volunteer Training, 6:00pm
January 18th - In Person Volunteer Training, 2:30pm
Thank you for your continued support and love of our community school. We love being a part of your childrens’ lives, and we are excited to continue to partner together.
Warmly,
Amanda

DEAN OF STUDENTS' UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
We had an awesome week back at school, and it's been wonderful to see everyone’s happy faces again! With the wild windy winter weather finally settling in, here's a friendly reminder about our cold weather and snow policies:
Outdoor Arrival/Recess: We plan to play outside in (almost) all weather situations, as we know that fresh air and outdoor play are great for both brain development and learning. Make sure students are bundled up with layers; coats, hats, gloves, and boots are all perfect for those chilly days.
Lost and Found: Winter clothes tend to wander off, so please check the lost and found often to reclaim your family’s lost items before they are donated.
Playing in the Snow: Please keep in mind that once we start to see more snow on the ground, playing in the snow is allowed with boots on. Just a quick reminder: no snow throwing, playing on ice patches, or climbing any big snow mounds. Additionally, don’t forget to send tennis shoes for PE Days!
Online Learning Days: While it hasn’t been super snowy so far this winter. When heavy snow is forecasted or subzero temperatures, your children will be bringing home their iPads as a precaution. Official decisions for Online Learning Days will be shared on our website and through messages to your IC contacts. We will be sending devices home TOMORROW as a precautionary measure for Tuesday’s temperatures. We will be in touch if it turns out to be an Online Learning Day on Tuesday.
Thanks for helping us keep everyone warm during this unpredictable winter weather!
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney
Dean of Students
