Principal's Corner
We have had lots happening around the school the past couple of weeks. We celebrated Halloween as a school. A big shout out to our student leadership team, SAVY, who organized many of the fun activities in the afternoon. They did a great job, and their efforts were really appreciated. We also had a pep rally to recognize our Sr. High girls' volleyball team as they head to zones at our Assembly on Tuesday. We also announced our Scarecrow contest winners. We had two categories, Town Choice and Office Choice winners. You can see the winners below. Tomorrow, we will have our Remembrance Day Ceremony. We have students who will be leading the ceremony, as well as representatives from the Daysland Legion. We are grateful for their help and participation in our ceremony.
We recently received positive news from our BRSD Learning Team. Our beginning of the year assessments have shown that our elementary students have made tremendous progress in literacy. We have placed a significant emphasis on literacy, especially in our early years, and the data is showing that it is benefiting our students. We are proud of them and thankful for our staff, who have worked hard to support them.
As we head into the winter season, we want to remind students to dress appropriately for the weather conditions. This is especially important for the bus and recess time for our elementary students. Also, we want to remind our secondary students that if buses do not run and students cannot attend school, they can still keep up with classwork online. Stay connected with your Google Classrooms during these days for more information.
Next week (November 13th-17th), students will be on Fall Break. We hope that our families enjoy the time off. We wish you all a safe and relaxing break, and we look forward to welcoming our students back on November 20th.
