Welcome to the 23-24 School Year
The Rock Canyon Counseling Department is thrilled to welcome you to another fantastic year in the jungle. We strive to support all of our students throughout their high school journey and help them reach their fullest potential. RCHS and the district are committed to delivering a student-centered comprehensive school counseling program focused on academic skills, social/emotional growth, and postsecondary readiness. While the majority of our lessons are disseminated through Seminar, students are always welcome to schedule individual appointments with their counselor.
In addition to providing universal lessons to our entire school, counselors work closely with their administrators to monitor students’ academic progress, behavior, and attendance in our MTSS meetings. We believe in early intervention to keep all of our Jags on the path to graduation and success after high school.
We look forward to partnering with you, your student, teachers, and administrators in supporting your student during their time here at Rock Canyon High School. Together we can continue to build your student’s self-advocacy, resilience, curiosity, and integrity to help them be the best versions of themselves in high school and beyond.
Let’s have a great year together!

Senior Meetings
Greater Denver College Fairs @ Mountain Vista
On Saturday, October 7th from 10:00am -12:00pm Mountain Vista High School will be hosting a college fair. This is a great opportunity for you to meet college admission representatives, learn more about their schools, and ask any questions you have.
District Career Showcase
On Thursday, October 5th during seminar/access, all students are invited to join us in the Gym for a career showcase. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to network with people in our community and learn more about different careers and industries. We highly encourage students, and especially seniors, to ask questions around different skills, training requirements, and education background for different career fields. It should be a fun opportunity for students of all ages.
Goal Setting
The start of a new school year is a great time to reflect on last year’s classwork and develop new goals. This month in Seminar, students will have the opportunity to develop academic goals for 1st semester. The Academic Team is encouraging students to make sure their goals are SMART: specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely. Ask your child to share their 1st semester goal with you, and be sure to check-in with them throughout the semester to see what progress they are making.
2024 United States Senate Youth Program--Application Now Available

Each delegate will be awarded a $10,000 college scholarship for undergraduate studies, with encouragement to pursue coursework in history and political science.
High school juniors or seniors with demonstrated leadership by serving in elected or appointed positions in which they are actively representing a constituency in organizations related to student government, education, public affairs, and community service, are eligible to apply.
